Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego Downtown/Bayside Reviews

I went to the center of San Diego, and I still think the Hilton is good. The health environment and services are good. Safety comes first when I go out. I think the facilities are good and it is a pleasant travel experience.

Housekeeping did not change the sheets on one of the 2 queen beds prior to our check-in. Waited an hour and a half to get new sheets so I could change the sheets myself because their staff couldn’t do it. The situation was handled poorly and finally received a slight discount after complaining. Also, the employee working maintenance on our floor was not helpful at all and did not show any remorse. We were also looking forward to soaking in the jacuzzi (hot tub) only to learn it wasn’t heated. Very disappointing.

Everything was great except for the train track directly outside of the window. I was woken up about 6 times throughout the night by train horns. If you stay here absolutely make sure that your room is not on the side of the hotel that runs parallel to the tracks.

We loved this hotel, Aaron was very helpful and made sure to ask us if we needed anything. We will definitely stay there again!

A wonderful hotel for a family vacation. Convenient to attractions and restaurants. The rooms amenities were perfect for a family of four.

Good place to stay for a family. They provide free breakfast with basic food but great when traveling with small kids. Room could use a deep clean in kitchen and ripped furniture should be replaced. Very friendly staff.

I had a hard time with the front desk with certain situations I ran upon, one was room service. Every time I had a question they were on different pages.

The hotel staff was very nice and the breakfasts were good ( with the exception of the coffee). The hotel was very noisy overall from the sirens, trains and early morning garbage collection. The location was conveinent for the areas that we wanted to visit. I wish there were more offerings in the kitchen.You couldn't really cook anythjng as our suite only had one large pot and nothing else. The kitchen was really only good for heating up leftovers, not for cooking anything.

It was clean, safe and a fun place. Lots of cozy places to sit and visit. the down fall is paying 50.00a night for parking!

There was no self parking so they force you to valet, which was an extra $50/night. It wouldn’t have been that bad if they were actually helpful with luggage….. was in my own to find a baggage cart! Besides that the rest of the staff was helpful. Had to escalate an issue to a manager, fortunately it was taken care of swiftly after our conversation.

Nice and clean hot tub was down most of our trip. Bartender Jason was amazing! Sever Luis was great as well!

I like the property, it was exactly what the pictures shows. The area is walkable, and many restaurants around to eat. The staff at first was welcoming, however there was a guy at the front desk that was rude when i asked about directions where breakfast was served. I also wasn’t aware that there’s no self parking, valet parking is all they offer $50/ day and you’re kind of screw if you don’t know the area where you can leave your car safely. I didn’t like that at all. Be aware of that!!!!

The hotel was great. We loved our 2 Bedroom Suite, it was perfect for our group of 7 (4 adults, 3 young kids). The kitchen was well stocked and spacious. I wish the living room area had more seating, just two soft chairs would be nice. Checking in was extremely slow. We were a bit early and arrived before check in time. Our room was not ready early, which was fine, they let us store our luggage, we left and got some food and came back after check in time. Unfortunately our room was still not ready, so we waited in the lobby patio/games area (our 3 kids terrorized everyone). We waited about an hour and a half for the room to be ready. When I asked about their guarantee check in, the front desk lady didn’t apologize or offer us anything, she told us that they can’t do anything about it because it is housekeeping and not her problem. I was a bit surprised at the lack of service, especially being a diamond level Hilton Rewards member, usually people are bending over backwards for us. No welcome letter and I had to ask for our diamond level perks—again usually hotels are making a bigger deal out of doing that.
