The hotel offers an excellent environment for a leisurely weekend with family, nestled close to the coast yet surrounded by forest. The restaurant provides an outstanding culinary experience. The bar, featuring a charming fireplace, is a delightful spot to enjoy drinks and appreciate the crackling of wood in the fire, adding a soothing element to the serene atmosphere. Additionally, the spa adds the final touch, completing the full relaxation experience for guests.

A beautiful property with amazing views and just a 15 minute drive to the beach.

Gorgeous place in a great location and the food is exceptional. Immaculate and comfortable room which included a separate place for our teen which was perfect. Plenty to do locally and easy to get into Barcelona. For more relaxing days the pool is perfect and we had fun playing pitch and putt.

Rooms - triple rooms are a great size with an outdoor area and large bathroom. It’s very comfortable. Note, the walls are too thin and we could hear people in the next room talking and their little brat devil child constantly moaning and crying. Breakfast - extremely generous. You will be well fed and satisfied. Wide variety of cooked foods, local hams and cheese, breads, pastries, fresh summer fruits, etc Amenities - Excellent. Grounds are beautiful, plenty of free parking. The spa area is great and free for guests (there are also paid services like massages, etc). Pool is very big with plenty of sun beds. Restaurant - exquisite food in the restaurant where we ate dinner twice. Excellent food quality and variety. Staff - courteous, polite, helpful, multi-lingual. Suggestions for improvement are (just my opinion): 1. If this was an ‘adults only’ hotel, it would be the best hotel on the Costa Brava. Unfortunately, most parents don’t control the bad behaviour of their children which can affect the stay for other guests. For example, 2 times at dinner we left the hotel restaurant early because of kids that would not stop screaming and/or crying. 1 time we left the pool area for the same reason. That shouldn’t happen when guests pay good money to stay in a peaceful and tranquil environment 2. No smoking zones - it’s completely unreasonable to have disgusting and toxic cigarette smoke in my face while eating at breakfast, or at dinner, or by the pool. For the comfort and health of the non-smoking majority, designated smoking areas should be considered. This is the case in most 1st world countries and specifically in public places.

This is a really lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. Here’s my review Room I do regret not asking for a view towards the pool. Ours had a view over the car park and wedding venue, which was perfectly fine. There was a wedding while we were there but it didn’t disturb us at all if the balcony door was shut. The room was beautiful and the little annex for our teenager worked well. The cleaning team were exceptional and every time we returned we collectively sighed with contentment. In the main part of the room we didn’t encounter any of the noise problems others have, but my son said he could sometimes hear people returning to their rooms after he was in bed. I think some rugs in the hall would solve that. Only real gripe, that the hotel can’t really change, is that occasionally there were rather pungent farm yard smells. We just closed the balcony door. The Outside Areas The Pool is gorgeous. Plenty of sun beds and even when the hotel was busy the pool never felt too busy Pitch and Put - for amateurs like us this was great fun and a nice way to spend time. Grounds - beautifully kept. Spa - lovely spa but horrendous invasive music. It’s a shame the time you can take children under 16 is limited to an hour in the morning (good for little kids but not a teen) and an hour in the afternoon. Would be nice to have another hour about 4 or 5. Restaurant/bars As others have said the breakfast was extraordinarily good. Best I’ve ever had. Evening meals were delicious. Reception bar - rarely anyone there to serve so we usually gave up Pool bar - good range of snacks and drinks. Sometimes had a bit of a wait for there to be somebody to serve. Could be frustrating re language as my Spanish is non existent and some of the staff speak no or little English. We mainly managed, but I’d recommend learning some key phrases in Spanish before you go. Local Area There is a lot to do locally. But you need to book things. Especially all three Dali places. And before you go - his house was already fully booked when we arrived. Local beach resorts were impossible to park in. We managed to get into Sant Pol on our last day by going at 5.30, but I wouldn’t recommend Platja D’Aro. If you don’t mind a half hour drive Tamarui was beautiful. We had a great day in Barcelona. Again you need to book especially Barcelona Football Club and Gaudi stuff. We got the fast train from Girona Also book parking where you can it was v hard to find spaces. If you get the chance visit medieval Pals. Overall This is a lovely hotel which I’d recommend. Being up in the mountains makes it feel remote and calm - with a breeze that helps make it never feel too hot, even in August. I’ll miss the lovely bell of the monastery chiming across the valley.

Hotel setting and rooms were lovely but overall the experience could have been better. Staff were welcoming but didn’t explain all the facilities and how to use them. Nor did they offer any suggestions for areas to visit / things to do. The pool bar wasn’t properly staffed and was a bit tatty - gravel/sand surface which wasn’t particularly pleasant to walk on. They could have taken much more business if they had staff walking round asking guests if they needed drinks etc. we hired bikes which were a good standard and also used the pitch and putt. Food in the restaurant was good although would have been better if menus were a bit more varied and different at lunch and dinner. We had a hybrid car and had to ask about charging points which were not in a handy location.

We stayed one week in the Mas Tapiolas. One of the best experience I’ve ever had in a hotel. Everything is almost perfect, with that special feeling that you are in the hands of professionals. We will come back, for sure!

Stayed one night as a break from camping trip nearby. Lovely place. Staff very friendly and garden room was very nice. We visited the wonderful spa twice whilst we were there and on both occasions had it to ourselves! Benefit of being a Sunday night stay out of main season I guess. Dinner was very good and breakfast was a real surprise. Lots of choice and all good quality. All in all a great stay and considering the excellent spa and breakfast, very good value for money. I’m sure we will visit again.

The hotel is great, the staff is extremely friendly and there are many places where you can sit, relax and have a coffee or a glass of wine. Indoors as well as oudoors. But we do recognise the reviews where noise from outher rooms is mentioned. You can hear everythin from your neighbours. If you are lucky, they are quiet people, if not....

This is the second time we’ve stayed at Mas Tapiolas, and will almost certainly go again. There are many things about it that are very good, but some things which, if addressed, would make it excellent. The rooms are lovely, with a fabulous view - if you pay a little extra for one at the back overlooking the hills - and are comfortably furnished. The pillows are not good, though I am sure the hotel will provide different ones if you ask. The major drawback with the rooms is the lack of sound insulation which can be a serious problem if neighbouring guests are not considerate. Our first night’s sleep was non-existent - doors slamming; children running down corridors and then parents shouting at them; and some particularly hard-of-hearing guests who probably didn’t realise that the entire hotel could have heard their TV. The second night, by comparison, was blissful. No one in adjoining rooms or, at least, not noisy. The breakfast was outstanding on both mornings. Lots of choice; freshly prepared and good quality. Likewise, dinner was absolutely outstanding - we had the Châteaubriand which was melt in the mouth tender - but I simply don’t understand why the hotel doesn’t offer a much more reasonably priced alternative, especially at lunch time. I am sure more people would eat more regularly if they did. In this regard, nothing has changed since our previous visit when the menu did not change from one day to the next, so if you are staying for more than a few nights it would get pretty frustrating. The staff are generally very kind and helpful, though, as someone who stays in different hotels virtually every week, I can assure you that they have some of the noisiest cleaners ever …and there rarely seems to be a time when you don’t have to negotiate a cleaning trolley in the corridor. One of the best features of the hotel remains the spa. The facilities are good; the staff are delightful; and my wife assures me that Vanessa does one of the best facial massages that she has had anywhere. Mas Tapiolas is certainly worth a visit, especially during quiet weeks.

Very clean hotel, with nice rooms and good food at the restaurant; albeit quite expensive Negatives: Overrun with wasps. The pool bar wasn’t properly staffed and used glasses were left all day around the poolside, wherever they had been left by guests. Dangerous to children and a magnet for the wasps. Floating poo in the pool… you didn’t miss read that. Couldn’t use garden area outside bedroom due to wasps. The most unhelpful and arrogant maitre d I’ve had the miss fortune to come across. She has no place in a restaurant and hotel of this price. Refused us tables, despite them being laid and empty without justification. We explained it was to get away from the wasps, which had already stung my son the previous evening. If it wasn’t for the fact one of us speaks fluent Spanish and argued with her in front of guests, she would not have done as requested. I think others have mentioned it, but some staff definitely seem to have a problem with guests who aren’t Spanish. Would I return or recommend…no. At this price service and hospitality is everything, there are many other hotels in this area and I’m afraid I’d say give them a try.

We went to Mas Tapiloas as a family. We took a Double room with balcony for my mother in law and Family room for our 9 year old daughter and my husband and I. The room was lovely except the bed for our daughter which was a sofa bed. In the image in the web site it showed a seperate space with bedside table and pretty picture together with a normal single bed. It was the entrance room to the room so not seperate at all and it was clearly a ugly sofa bed which was extremely uncomfortable. The “garden” is ok but nothing to write home about and their are no extras like in other hotels like soap, shampoo or a little packet of biscuits. It’s pump soap and shampoo and conditioner which reminds me of a cheap motel. The restaurant was beautifully presented but a complete disappointment. Firstly the service does not come with a smile. Food was very average and the kids meals were not edible. When I ordered a snack during the day it was a hamburger with chips which is hard to get wrong but unfortunately it was not edible. The spa is a highlight. Really beautiful and well designed. I loved every minute there. I thought to try a treatment so went to the spa receptionist and asked in Spanish if she spoke English and she replied ‘in Spanish’ (I speak fluent Italian so I understood her), “I don’t speak English but I speak perfect Spanish”! I was pretty shocked at her rudenes. I had asked in Spanish as a courtesy but she had absolutely no regard for me at all. The staff at reception were nice but no more than that. It felt like they had had their high season (July/August) and were tired and over it by the time we arrived. I would recommend the hotel for its spa but I would say that the rest including kids play area (very un kept) pool and restaurant let it down. The staff were also not impressive at all. Could be much betters!

There is nothing negative to say about this place. We found it when our original accommodation had issues with the air conditioning and had to move hotels. Located in the countryside with beautiful views. The rooms are beautiful with big comfortable beds our room had a separate area for clothes and a lovely bathroom. We had a terrace with 2 lovely chairs. The pool area was lovely with plenty of loungers and shaded areas, there was also a bar for drinks and snacks. The restaurant is incredible and great value for money we ate there 3 out of 5 nights and it was delicious. Definitely recommend the gastronomic menu 45 euros a head which included wine, water and coffees. The breakfast buffet is amazing with so many beautiful choices this was probably one of the best places for breakfast we’ve been. We hired bikes for the day which is a great way to see the area, some great routes and very well set up. The hotel is about an 11 minute drive from the beach at San pol a place we love 💕 We will most definitely be coming back
