Hotel Riu Cabo Verde - All Inclusive Adults Only

Just the standard RUI Hotel setup…unable to get a booking in any of the specialty restaurants. Buffet restaurants the same repetitive food. Polite cleaning staff. Reception staff need to be more customer focussed I arrived at 8pm given a keycard and a map and pointed in the direction of the room…no one to help with baggage. Requested late checkout on the RUI app had it confirmed and then I find keycard not working on the day after spending the morning by the pool headed to reception was told I should have requested this at reception…at no point in time did the app state this. I was told that the bell boy had put a note under my door..that’s ok if I could actually get into the room to read it, but there was no note ! Would not say this is a 5* hotel more a 4*.

We are currently staying at this lovely hotel. We weren’t sure what to expect because of the negative reviews, but we quickly learnt that you can’t please everyone. Yes the rooms are tired and need a bit of TLC, but are you going on holiday to stay in your room? NO, well one would hope not. It’s a fairly biggish resort, so you get your steps in. I’m not sure why people are moaning about the sun bed situation. Yes, there are those people who reserve them and don’t appear all day, but we found you could still get beds by 9am. Food is good for all inclusive. The staff are lovely, so friendly and very beautiful! The app is great. We ordered some more drinks and they were delivered 10 minutes later. Quick check in. All in all, I would recommend this resort. And it’s definitely no stress!

Hotel was spotless, room very clean, comfortable and had new towels when required. Pool was lovely, although the sun beds do need to be cleaned, very grubby. Could do with a bleach sanitizer. Buffet food was so good we didn’t go to the restaurants. Staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely holiday.. weather was perfect. Only downside was the cramped flight home with no legroom.

This hotel isnt conventionally bad and i’m going to sound like a right moaner with this review, however it is no where near the 5 star standard and is a 3 or 4 at a push. There is No a**osphere during the day other than entertainers coming to pool a couple of times a day doing their dance and then buggering off elsewhere so all there is to do other than drink in the pool bar which was great for the first few days but quickly got boring. I imagine there is more at the funnana but i paid for adults only and the hotel is advertised as having activities and entetainment… i dont want to have to go funnana and be around kids. I have seen them try do some pool games but the pool isnt big enough and it just looked rubbish. Food is ok at best, very poor quality for a 5 star hotel and often cold we’ve had still frozen fries and burger rolls, undercooked pink chicken and none of the signage above matches what the food is which I think is dangerous and i will be reporting this to TUI However I am not too fussy with food so i have been able to find something to eat others in my party have not always. Drinks are ok at best too, best drinks are in reception bar however seating is awful over there really uncomfortable and the bar closes way too early i expected this to be the 24 hour bar! I hate the fact if you want to have a drink late at night you have to go into the sister hotel which has the club and sports bar both are awful and nowhere nice to sit and talk amongst friends. Sunbeds have been a joke most of the last week not enough around pool for everyone and staff not pro-active stopping people saving loungers and then going elsewhere for hours on end. Today however there was plenty free so its not an everyday thing. Rooms are OK mini bar not filled up daily infact mine was only filled once in a week, cleaning standard is not what I expect from a 5 star and that applies throughout the hotel. Good points are the beach is lovely but red flags most days, The coffee Bar was good To top it off our last 2 days of the holiday the whole group has been down with sickness and diharrea!! Very disappointed with my visit and would not come to this hotel again, however i would visit the island again.

Just back from fantastic 2weeks stay here, clean and comfortable room with the best disabled bathroom ever. Staff were friendly and helpful, food good sure even fussiest eaters would be happy. If you have any disabilities this hotel is best I ever stayed in reserved tables in restaurants, see pool guy to get sunbed reserved no more towel wars. Even if you don’t need this you’ll have great time at this hotel. Yes there are some fly’s but get them here in uk so don’t see the problem just relax and enjoy No Stress!!

Lovely hotel and very quiet because of no children. Would prefer to be in a family hotel now we have tried adult only. Bed was uncomfortable as one side of the bed seemed to have broken springs as it was lower than the other side and very soft. Disappointed that the cold foods don’t have any covers therefore flies were helping themselves. Couldn’t get to the beach as it was too far away and wife is in a wheelchair. Booked this hotel because it said on the beach.

Excellent hotel, gorgeous buffet, cracking entertainment, staff were exemplary throughout! Was worried the all inclusive food would be repetitive and boring but it was the opposite. A very wide range of different good quality, well cooked food every day. An defo an all inclusive holiday girl now!!!

We had a fantastic week. This is the 6th Riu hotel we have stayed in. It was of the usual of high standards. Great food, clean comfortable rooms and stunning tropical grounds. Easy access to the beach with lots of sunbeds and a beach bar. We dived with Scuba Caribe, who are located on the beach at the hotel, for 4 of our 7 days. Excellent diving and excellent service from the dive crew too. Free Nitrox if you hold the Nitrox qualification.

We had a lovely holiday we had a 1st floor room which was nice and spacious kept nice and clean by our housekeeper The hotel and grounds were kept lovely and clean you could always see someone cleaning and the gardeners working hard The restaurant (buffet) you could always find something to eat we were served by Anna who was very helpful and friendly she always knew I i would need the extra teabag ! The Italian, Gourmet and Steakhouse were good too The pool area was good there was always plenty of sunbeds no ned to go down at silly o'clock The bar staff worked very hard the ones behind the bar and the ones collecting glasses keeping the area clean clear We most certainly will be back next year Thankyou to everyone who works there.
