This place is definitely not worth the price (maybe their other properties are but not this one). When we checked in, they showed us the amenities and as we were heading to our room, they claimed they “upgraded” us to a senior suite room (I booked a junior suite) and when we walked in, it was clearly not an upgrade and the junior suite pictures actually looked much better. The room was located in the corner of the property next to the staff area and maybe cleaning supplies area? It was small and a bit cramped with no air flow, smelled like a moldy locker room, and was partitioned awkwardly to the bathroom with a very large step that I almost fell from, the floors did not look clean (especially the shower area) and there was one window very high up that could not be closed so no privacy from our convos and there were bugs flying in. It felt like a basement. Definitely was not an upgrade and we weren’t even sure if the room was cleaned thoroughly. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and after a long day of traveling tried to hop into bed. As soon as I moved the pillow, I saw that the sheets were not clean. There was hair under the pillows and brown stains of some sort. I rushed to the reception area to let them know and they said that they could get housekeeping to change the sheets. I asked to get the room that I originally had paid for and not the upgraded room. If that was an “upgrade” I didn’t want it. After waiting for the front desk to make some calls, they gave us another room. We walked in and it finally kind of looked like the junior room from the pictures. They apologized and comped a room service meal which I appreciated. They also said that this room had a “sea view”, which we could see a bit of but it was an obstructed by a tennis court and a wall. By the way, the hotel is located right next to a school so prepare for screaming children during the weekday and tons of traffic as parents pick up their kids. We had breakfast one day there and they served a bread basket with some bread and 2 pieces of charcuterie, 2 pieces of pastries, and some juice. Staff were nice. We went to the spa one day to ask what time the steam room opened and closed and the person at the desk said “I don’t know”?? Overall, the experience was very strange and again not worth the price. The staff were friendly for the most part but asked a lot of personal questions and were unsure of a lot of things most of the time. It felt like this hotel was trying to be a "5-star" hotel but lacked the experience and trained staff to do it. I also felt a bit scammed on the first day with the room that they placed us into and it didn’t sit right with me. While they did try to fix the situation by moving us to another room and comping our room service, I don’t feel that it was worth the trouble after all of that and was not happy that the hotel wasn’t clean. The plus is that it is in a walkable location to the town and shops. Definitely recommend staying somewhere else
