Hotel Castelar was a good experience for me. Hotel location is central in the city and you can approach most of the places easily. Hotel stuff were friendly and helpful all the time. I had a good breakfast there as well. Interior architecture is very good in this hotel. Wooden table, wooden bed frame and lamination and also a beatufily wooden chair helped me feel I was in a superb hotel. The console to manage lights and calls also looked very unique and made me feel good about environment. I recommend this place to anybody want to have good experience for their stay.

The hotel is good, but unfortunately, it is very poorly located, in a place with a lot of ********** and homeless people. I didn't have the courage to go out at night. But the hotel is old, but very comfortable. Since I only stayed to sleep, it was worth it. But if you're staying for longer days and with children, I wouldn't recommend it, not because of the hotel, but because of the location, which is scary.

The hotel's facilities and service were good. However, what made it a little fearful were the recommendations from drivers that the surrounding area was becoming dangerous, due to the dismantling of Cracolândia, causing them to migrate to other locations. In addition to this, it seems to me that almost the entire area around Avenida Paulista has problems with homeless people. However, I believe that the local government should be taking measures to contain this social and criminal issue that affects the city's economy and health. The hotel is good.

I was traveling from MS to RJ and stayed at this hotel for a night. I arrived at 00:40 on a Saturday and my experience could not have been worse. 1. The place is extremely horrible!! Crowded with ************, drunks, homeless people, bottles on the floor, loud music... the place is FEARFUL; 2. When I arrived at the parking lot offered by the hotel (and in which I paid R$ 20.00 there was no more space and I had to leave the key, which I didn't feel comfortable with since all my belongings were inside); 3. Furthermore, the lobby was empty (and locked) and I had to keep calling the hotel for someone to show up. In other words, at almost 1 am I was in the middle of the street in the center of São Paulo with a cell phone in my hand (asking for a robbery, right?!). Detail: there was a car at the door with other guests trying to get in and I was warned to be careful as they could surrender me there. Great welcome! 4. The hotel claims to be pet friendly, but there is no space for pets to do their business. In other words, he is welcome at the hotel, but he cannot pee or poop anywhere? I'm not asking for a person to be available to clean or anything like that, but for me to at least have a space to walk around with the animal and collect its things. As I said before, the place is EXTREMELY dangerous and I simply wasn't allowed to even walk in the garage with my dog. In other words, I had to go out on the street, alone, at greater risk to my integrity. What establishment that calls itself pet friendly is this? 5. Breakfast wasn't great... and the coffee didn't taste good. 6. I didn't like the service given by one of the men at the entrance (I don't remember his name), as he was the one who said I couldn't walk my dog and closed the garage door almost on my head; 7. Although the room is spacious (the only positive point), it is old! The television is still tube! Amazing! LOL
