Excellent Hotel, just like a Swiss watch everything was top quality. Lovely rooms with expensive bathroom fittings this was surprisingly good value for the area. Nice restaurant with a limited menu and decent breakfast . Great location with parking behind the building. Would recommend for anyone touring or walking.

Excellent, charming privately owned hotel in the Old city. 5 minute walk from the train station. Owner is most accomodating and friendly. In fact, the Entire staff at this hotel are genuinely friendly and helpful. A nice, easy breakfast for guests is offered to begin your day. Rooms are spotlessly clean!- Swiss clean! I booked this for family who was visiting us in Sarnen who absolutely needed air conditioning as they were from North America and could not do without. Haha! This is the ONLY HOTEL in Sarnen with air conditioning.

A lovely little hotel in the middle of this pretty town. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Though we arrived quite late, chef stayed to cook us a meal. We were upgraded to the panoramic suite, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and the town. The whole place was very clean and tidy, with a very calm and peaceful atmosphere. Sarnen itself is a compact and attractive town with all the facilities you could want. it would make a great base to explore the area further.

Nach einer anstrengenden Wanderung haben wir spontan ein Zimmer im Hotel Metzgern gebucht. Da wir an diesem Tag das Bedürfnis nach einer "Badewanne" hatten, fragten wir vor Ort, ob es eine solche Möglichkeit wohl gebe. Zu unserer Überrcheckenaschung erhielten wir ein kostenloses Upgrade und bekamen ein gediegenes Familienzimmer, mit einer Whirpool-Badewanne. Es war ein Genuss ! Das Einchecken verlief zügig und unkompliziert. Das uns gebotene Familenzimmer war geradezu riesig und wir haben es genossen. Das Frühstück wurde am Tisch serviert. Es war reichhaltig und die überaus freundliche Serviceangstellte fragte zwischendurch immer wieder nach, ob wir noch etwas benötigten. Kompliment an das freundliche Personal im Hotel Metzgern ! Auch der Besitzer war beim Ein- und Auschecken vor Ort und überaus zuvorkommend und gastfreundlich. Fazit: Wir können das Hotel Metzgern in Sarnen bestens weiter empfehlen !
