We truly enjoyed our 3 nights at the lodge. By far the best place we stayed during a 2-week trip around the southwest. Everyone we encountered from the staff was welcoming and friendly. The rooms (which they call cabins) were super clean and comfortable and surround very pretty landscaping. There’s a cute little bar with happy hour! Dogs are welcome. There is absolutely no noise from the airport just down the street. Great restaurant a quick walk away. It’s right by the Airport Loop hike and vortex. Really great? The views! Lots of people drive up there especially at sunrise and sunset but the lodge has its own for-guests-only viewing area. They offer a free shuttle from 2-10 pm to take guests anywhere within 5 miles so you can enjoy a leisurely dinner and cocktails in town and not worry about driving back up the hill. In warmer months, there’s a pool. Hot tub was open and looked inviting but we didn’t have a chance to soak. Loved the place.

Among the worst hotel experiences of our lives.
The hotel website advertises an expansive deck with gorgeous views of Sedona. But what they don't reveal, even as you approach your stay, is that area is rarely available to hotel guests due to weddings and private events.
You read that right: the hotel's main selling feature, the view, is only available on "off nights" or if you pay for an exorbitant upgraded room.
Oh and when you ask the front desk about alternatives or a partial refund (on your honeymoon no less), they'll tell you your welcome to cancel your stay and book elsewhere.
Customer service you would expect of a run-down motel. Which in hindsight seems almost fitting, given all Sky Ranch Lodge is without the view is a hillside Holiday Inn.

Staff is helpful.
However we asked for a quiet room and possibly with a view. We got a room with another unit above.
Practically no insulation, extremely noisy from people just walking in the unit above.

Location was fabulous. I was concerned about closeness to airport. Stayed for 4 nights did not hear a sound. It appears to.be a tiny airport . The view from our room(2 queen beds) was incredible. It is high and around 5 people gather next door to view sunset and sunrise but hotel has own private viewing area. The rooms were cleaned very well every day. Staff very nice and healpful. Only downside was that mattress in room235 was on a creaky spring base.

We have stayed at Sky View several times with our family and friends. This location has the absolute best views of Sedona. It’s a cute motel with more charm than the big resorts and hotel chains.

I enjoyed my time at Sky Ranch. The rooms were newly renovated, very clean and comfortable. I like that we had a small kitchen area with dishes, and glasses. Everything we needed. I was a bit disappointed about their pool being closed for the season as it is something my family enjoys doing even in the winter. I wish they had some fire pits outside to hang out. Overall a good experience with those specific experiences that we missed. I would stay there again possibly when the pool is open, otherwise I might choose a place that has those amenities all year long.

One of our favorite hotel stays to-date. Very cozy rooms. Great views. We loved the nightly happy hour with access to the wedding venue location to see the sunset and then enjoy the hot tub. Plus, they are pet friendly! And the restaurant at the airport is a quick walk and has wonderful food.

Everything was amazing, But I do have some small complaints.
wish the private viewing area, had they’re heaters turned on and working for us guest.
Complementary station never looks satisfying, never has fresh water or cookies. We pay a pretty penny for this to be refreshed often enough for all guest, all hours of the day when arriving .
