Location wise is not too bad. It’s about a 10min walk from the train station. And right next to the Shimoda tourist information centre. It’s a short walk to the harbour front - being near the ocean is nice. There’s a 7-11 about a 7mjn walk away. And the park next to the ocean is very near too and very nice to walk.
The ryokan doesn’t have a lift though, so take note if you’re bringing heavy luggage.

It takes about 15 minutes to walk from Shimoda Station, which is quite convenient.
However, there are few places to eat nearby, mainly concentrated near the station.
The room is quite spacious, with an independent bathroom and sink. The room has an independent entrance where luggage can be stored.
The mattress is a bit small and I always worry about falling when I turn over in the middle of the night.
There are two public bathrooms, one large and one small. Both men and women wash on a first-come, first-served basis, so when there are many people, you have to queue up...

It's a very Japanese-style hotel. You have to change your shoes when entering and make your own bed. The room is ridiculously big for a Japanese hotel and it's very comfortable! The hotel also has a hot spring, which is very comfortable to relax after a day of fun! The only drawback is that the hotel is a little out of the way, there aren't many things to do nearby, and the roads are all mountainous. The two of us were exhausted after riding for a day!

The location of the hotel is very convenient. It takes 8 minutes to walk to the bus terminal and 10 minutes to Shirahama Coast. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel.
