If you seek isolation, basic jungle living (with good home cooking) with a near deserted perfect tropical beach, as we did, you will not be disappointed. Dany our host was charming and helpful. It obviously has beed a tough couple of years following the pandemic, so its like a rebirth here. A day on this beach is about as relaxing and quiet as you can experience anywhere in the World. Oh and the night swims with the Luminous Plankton unreal

I recommend everyone to visit and stay at the lonely beach. This place is quiet and beautiful nature. All the people went there are loyal. You can your things wherever you want. The beach is clean, nice and the water is clear. You can go there by motor from Long Seth beach or can have a taxi, but you have walk after you reached to the end of the road and you need to walk the lonely beach around 30 minutes or less.

We stopped here for lunch twice during our stay on Koh Rong! Great food and even better a**osphere. The staff were super helpful and nice to chat with. We would highly recommend! The beach is amazing, too. Make sure to get the pita, it’s very tasty.

Our stay at Lonely Beach was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Arriving by boat, we carried our bags through the Palm Beach resort and up some steep steps where we were met by our motos drivers which we’d arranged with Danny - our host. The ride was exhilarating if a little hairy but as soon as we arrived, we were in paradise. Yes it’s basic (no AC, WiFi, running water) but that’s why you’re there and why it’s so affordable. It felt amazing to get back to basics with a bracing bucket shower each day 😁 The food and drinks were the most unexpected highlight - one particular salad I’ve already tried recreating since returning home. Service was speedy and always with a smile. Danny is an off-beat, funny and kind host. He encouraged us to swim with the bioluminescent plankton which was a beautiful experience and took loads of great pics of us 😁 If you’re used to 5* service - manage your expectations. Embrace the nature and bring an open mind. Covid hit hard and times are tough! The views, sunset and the peace found were both stunning and transformative.

Loved everything about this place. Bit of effort required to get there which makes it all the more special. Laid back basic old school charm and feel about the place. We arrived by scooter without a reservation and it was looking like we may be out of luck but the wonderful french owner asked us to wait a couple of hours whilst he tried to juggle bookings around once his business partner arrived. They managed to sort us 3 nights accommodation and we loved it. Great food, simple accommodation makes u realise u don't actually need much to be happy. You write down every meal and drink on a pad and settle your bill at the end. Just perfect. Also saw the luminous plankton at night which was incredible. Merci beaucoup

One of the best places I have been, and I travel a lot. Just no words to describe the place, the beach, the nature. I went solo and the welcome was excellent. Danny and his team are not only super helpful but also the sweetest people. It's a bit remote (but just 25km from the village) but it makes all the sense when you arrive in. It was funny to see the faces of other travellers who arrived later than me, like WoW! The food also surprised me very positively. He offers many vegetarian and vegan options, and this is difficult when you are away from the main village, offering much more options and when logistics are more complicated. The owner is fluent in few languages, including the local language, what made it very easy to communicate with the cooker, a lovely local. He also tries to help us much as possible and he gave me lots of info about the country and the Island. I really enjoyed my stay there and I highly recommend it to free spirits who are looking for a real getaway. Unforgettable spot in the island and unforgettable stay

This is a bit of a trek from Koh Touch ( $10 pp / one way moto trip ) It is a truly beautiful place with a stunning beach and lovely friendly hosts however it feels quite run down and tired - little maintenance/cleaning of communal washing areas and no fans to be found anywhere . The sleeping huts have tin rooves . It was extremely hot during our stay for 3 days and I literally melted - even the communal restaurant has no fans . It is all solar powered but still could have been considered . Be prepared to share bathing water with frogs and tadpoles and remove spiders from huts as the huts are in the jungle area . The food was amazing but at top end of prices for the island . Lovely place but be prepared to go back to basics ! You need a torch / mossie / sand fly repellant & good books !

We had planned to stay at Lonely Beach for four nights. It was so bad we left after two. The rainy season did not help, and the owner cannot be blamed for the weather. But there are many other points on which he did not deliver. Yes there is no A/C, no running water and no electricity. We knew all that and were prepared for it. What we were not prepared for were the crawling animals in our bungalow. A bat stayed in the room, there was animal feces on the mosquito net, a rat, giant geckos in the bathroom. The gecko ate my solid soap and my toothbrush, never leave anything in the bathroom! The place is dirty and feels abandoned: snorkelling masks had mould on them, some common areas are broken down and not getting repaired (barbecue, snorkelling station, outside bar). Toilets had not been cleaned before, bed sheets were stained. There is only one bowl for cleaning, showering and flushing the toilets. It is never changed or cleaned when guests leave. The water supply was dirty with cockroaches and frogs in it. When confronted with all this nonsense, the owner would just laugh at us, saying we come from the city. Yet he lives with an army of dogs, so obviously there are no animals in his own bungalow. There is a difference between no electricity and sharing a disgusting room with animals. The place is remote and expensive to go to ($20 boat + moto taxi per person), expensive to stay in (the only food option is the restaurant of the hotel) and neither worth the hassle nor the price. A few positives: food is on the pricey side but good; the beach is beautiful and indeed, lonely.

At high tide there is no beach. It’s quite a long way to go to the lonely beach and frankly, it’s not worth it. A bit more than 3 km of dirt road or mostly very narrow sandy path and all of it to get to somewhere where you can barely see it and surrounded by some old huts, which one day were a kind of guesthouse.
