Hotels near Blu Water Restaurant in Sorrento

We stayed here for one night in April 2023. Given some of the previous reviews we were more than pleasantly surprised. Our stay started well, the lady on reception (whose name we can’t remember) was extremely welcoming and helpful. We were upgraded to a road facing superior room which had been newly refurbished. It was lovely with a great bathroom. We were worried about the traffic noise but with the balcony doors closed it was fine. We would not recommend spending a long time on the balcony given the main road location but there is a pool area with plenty of outside space. The bar was very good and well run. The bar prices were competitive. The hotel is a ten to fifteen minute walk to Piazza Tasso. Located near the hotel is the excellent Banana Split Bar and Master Hosts Restaurant (don’t be put off by the name, we found the food really good and the prices reasonable). There is also a pub next to the hotel, but we did not try that. The breakfast is as others have said not a four star breakfast hence our score of four not five.

Unfortunately this property was disappointing and not worth the money - avoid if you can. Although it is definitely a cheaper option than many other places in Sorrento, in hindsight we would have rather paid more for a better experience. The main 3 issues we had were that the pool was shut (due to rain) for both days we were there (having read other reviews you have to PAY to use it on weekends anyway?!). The restaurant was also shut for our second day, which was annoying as we'd planned to stay at the hotel relaxing all day then go to their restaurant for dinner - the reviews mention the food being good so we were keen to try it. The third issue was that our room was very small, with one small window which had shutters across it that could not be opened. There was a sky light in the ceiling but we couldn't exactly see any views from there. These 3 things were enough to put us off and made the stay there underwhelming and frustrating. Additionally, the shortcut walk up to the property is steep and not well lit at nighttime - be careful. As others have mentioned, that's if you even find that route to the hotel - we ended up going the long way round when we arrived with our suitcases which takes about 10 minutes up and down hills, rather than 1 minute up the very steep hill! Breakfast was ok, nothing amazing. The last thing, on the first night when we returned from the centre, there was a really loud party going on on the patio (this was about 11.30pm) which we could hear from our room. We contacted the property directly (through ***********) for compensation when we returned home, but instead received a response from *********** that the property refused to give any compensation or even a reply! The only positive thing was the girl on reception was really friendly and helpful. Overall, not worth staying here and please read the other recent reviews as they are all similar. It seems this place used to be better a few years back and has unfortunately gone downhill.

This Hotel is all about the Staff they are all lovely and make this Hotel stand out. Much has already been said about this Hotel so I won’t repeat what has already been said. I’ll just add some tips, expect a one hour plus transfer depending on your arrival and departure times ours was over two hours returning to the Airport it’s just the tight roads and traffic it can’t be helped if your squeamish don’t look at the Scooter riders there Crazy 🤣. There is a Free Shuttle every hour and return on the quarter hour until 11.15PM prompt, the lovely professional safe driver Mario can’t stop on the road long due to traffic so don’t be late. You can walk to Sorrento but there is little or no pavement but it’s a nice change lovely scenery, just be careful. Sorrento is lovely, great Ice-cream. The Port is in town for the Boat to Capri around €90 return for two but remember your return Boat may not pick up where it dropped you off so make sure to ask. Napoli get the Train it’s about a 10 minute walk from the shuttle bus drop off approximately €16 return for two around an hours ride some buskers onboard but adds to the fun, some dodgy characters in town so keep hold of your purse, on the same line the train stops right at Pompei around 30 minute ride and €9 return for two, don’t buy tickets from the touts make sure you go through to the kiosk allow at least 4 hours for Pompei it’s very busy. There are hillside walks behind the Hotel and just down and across the road is a nice Beach harbour with restaurants, it is down a steep slope though.

The hotel was gorgeous and located in Sorrento with a beautiful view, totally worth the value for the night. My only suggestion is the pool to be open until a later time, and to offer lunch and dinner and not just breakfast. The reception personnel including the manager were very rude. I went to ask a question and the manager replied: ”only if it's one question because I'm very busy.” Every time I had a question I was made feel as if I was being a nag which I was not.

Just stayed here with my 17 year-old daughter for 4 nights. We only booked the week before so were lucky to find somewhere to stay in Sorrento in July! What a gem this hotel is. It’s a small hotel, very Italian and the staff are wonderful. Our room was lovely, very spacious and clean. It had a huge window looking out to sea and a balcony too. Air con was brilliant and much needed with the heatwave currently. The hotel has a free, regular bus into Sorrento which only takes ten minutes and it runs until late at night. The pool is beautiful and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was amazing. So much choice and as much as you want. We were B&B but we did eat in the hotel restaurant on two evenings and the food was superb. We cannot wait to go back!!

This hotel was formerly a convent and is adjacent to a beautiful church, and the setting is serene and beautiful. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are so accommodating and helpful that you could not ask for more. The room my wife and I stayed in was lovely and the bed was so comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice and the coffee was delicious. The staff were warm and friendly and the service given was among the best we’ve ever experienced. There is complimentary wi-fi ( a rarity these days with most establishments charging a small premium) . We had a lovely stay which was predominantly down to the staff and in particular a lovely lady named Theresa who always went out of her way and was so accommodating. Although the hotel is listed as a “Three Star” it feels like a “5 Star”. Stunning , and would not hesitate to stay here again.

The Hosts make your stay a lovely time. Signor Beppe makes sure you have an easy holiday. His advice is honest and caring. The views you can see in the gallery are truly breath-taking and you are one hour away from all the major places such as Amalfi, Positano, Minori and Sorrento. We swam in the four different beaches and had lunch there too. Even the village itself is lively for evenings out when you wish to stay around. That is why we chose to stay there. We have plans to return so as to visit even more sites. For instance the Ercolano is on the way to the airport and is well worth the visit - so next time we shall visit Pompeii. Vesuvius is also an hour away and we bought excellent Buffalo milk Limoncello there, a novelty to us. And what about Ravello, what a sweet town with winding narrow streets opening onto a lovely tree-shaded Piazza Centrale and the Duomo. And a day in Capri with a lovely boat ride from Amalfi as advised by Signor Beppe. We take this opportunity to thank the whole family. Please take their advice and phone ahead if you have difficulties for your best choices or itinerary. And please slow down to enjoy the Tyrrhenian Sea and its rhythms, soak in the culture and smell the wine and the roses.

Hotel breakfast is good, equivalent to the star hotel level, save the hotel method: from the pier, then take a 1 euro lift, reach the above city (photo 1), then walk 8 minutes through the small square to reach the Grand Plaza (with flags , photo 2), then take the main street (walking path, photo 3), various shops on both sides, you can buy drinks in the fries shop of photo 4, and take a rest on the chair opposite the church door (photo 5) (also Take a drink at the roadside bar), then continue on, go down the slope on the side of the hospital (square), turn left at 50 meters, walk for 7 minutes, reach the road junction where you can drive, then Turn right and walk 100 meters across the road (passing an uphill parking lot) and you are at the hotel.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 days in Sorrento. The hosts were incredibly nice and welcoming people. Rooms were cleaned in 10 minutes tops and breakfast was awesome everyday ($10/person/day). They helped us navigate local transportation with directions and gave us great restaurant recommendations. If you’re going to stay here, we’d recommend two local eateries: Ristorante Bagni Sant’Anna by the Marina Grande and Taverna Allegra. This hotel was located in the main square so be prepared to hear people talking up and town the streets at night. Besides, we loved being in the middle of the action. There are plenty of gelato shops, souvenir shops, bars, and attractions near by. Everything is walking distance, including the train station which is a 10 minute walk away. The port is 15 minutes away walking. Definitely coming back! Grazie for everything! 😊
