Location is great because has a public parking lot right across. Check the map at lobby before you start walking or can end up walking unnecessary miles. Love the Breakfast and price was reasonable. Room was very clean and beds are super comfortable.

The hotel by the Savannah River should be the best local hotel among the regular hotels. The only dissatisfaction is that the management is a bit messy. We have been deducting our credit card at random, and the fee has never been clarified. Through the unremitting communication of the Ctrip housekeeper, it is finally confirmed that the overcharge has been charged. I have not received a refund yet. I hope everything goes well.

The worst experience! It is totally inconsistent with the photos posted by Ctrip. The photos of the hotel’s exterior scenery are 20 minutes away from the hotel by car. The said 31 square meters and terraces are not there. The luxurious bathroom is just like a business hotel. It feels cheated.

From the moment we walked in the door, we felt welcome. Sean went out of his way to find us an upgraded room based on my Titanium status with Marriott. We loved our corner suite! Alejandra immediately gave us water bottles and offered us cookies. The hotel is in a perfect location (walking distance everywhere). Alex and Alejandra at the front desk were extremely helpful and we became BFFs quickly. The only negative to our stay was that it was too short. We will most definitely return!!!

I booked this hotel through Amex fine hotels and resorts and have always had fantastic stays when booked through them. Unfortunately, that’s not been the case here at Hotel Bardo. Let it be known, I’ve NEVER written a poor review, even if the experience hasn’t been great but for this being a fine hotel and resort and it not being cheap I want to urge others to stay elsewhere when booking through Amex. When we arrived our room wasn’t ready, one of the perks of fine hotels and resorts is an early check in and room upgrade, neither of which we received. No problem, understand this isn’t guaranteed. But when I inquired about it with the woman at the front desk it was not met with a pleasant attitude. When we did receive our room keys we weren’t given any of the details of our fine hotel and resort stay like in other hotels. I had no idea what the breakfast rules were as well as the hotel credit we would be receiving. I wound up asking the front desk employee later because the same woman wasn’t helpful. For dinner we hoped to take advantage of the house car to take us to river street. I booked through the front desk for 7:10. After waiting, inquiring 2 times, and sitting outside for over 40 minutes we wound up booking an Uber. I never heard from the driver and that was it. When we got back from River Street there was a concert going on across the street (our room faces it). It was INCREDIBLY loud. I called the front desk to ask when it would be ending, since it was 10pm at this point. She informed me she wasn’t sure the ending time and would call me back. 20 minutes later she called to let me know it wouldn’t end until 11pm. Needless to say there was zero sleeping until that ended. For breakfast, which $60 is covered from Amex, I ordered 2 entrees and specifically said we didn’t want bottled water but would love 2 glasses to use at the water station. We were brought 2 $9 bottled waters, when I inquired about them I was told I ordered them and I specifically explained I asked for glasses. On top of that there was a 25% gratuity charged. I’m happy to tip, I always tip well, but to be charged 25% when the order isn’t even correct is crazy. I’m currently sitting in our room waiting for my revised check to be delivered, which at this point I doubt I’ll ever see. I’m a single mom that brought my kids to Savannah for my 40th birthday and this was truly supposed to be a special treat for all of us and instead it’s been met with incredibly poor customer service and a sub par experience. I highly recommend the Thompson in Savannah, I wish we would’ve stayed there again.

Just came back from 5 nights stay. Loved loved it! Shout out to Aby and Theresa at the front desk. So professional, helpful and fun! Loved seeing their Chic fun eye glasses every day! Aby upgraded us to High floor River front, what a great view, watched the vessels, ferries and Savanna Queen pass by every day! Mark the concierge very nice and helpful, booked hop/off bus tour w him. Location is the best! Walk to shops, restaurants, river, historical sites in just minutes. Right next to The Pink house ( great food btw). Other hotels claim they are in best location, but we found they were closer to highway overpasses and we were so glad we picked the HI express !! Used the Roof top Pool and jacuzzi every day! Hotel Bar hours not open during our stay. Bkfst standard continental, but convenient to start the day and save our $ for lunches or dinners! Beds comfortable. Great WiFi and hot water! Rooms spacious. Has a room safe. Highly recommend and Will def return on our next trip!

From the moment you arrive you are greeted with exceptional hospitality. The Inn is absolutely stunning. Pictures do not do justice on how well taken care of this historic home is under the management of Hamilton-Turner Inn. When you arrive be sure to sign the guest book and under the table is maps of the city along with a trolley map. They come in handy. The Inn offers many great amenities including bikes to explore the area with. Daily in the parlor there is complimentary fruit infused water along with fresh fruit and cookies. Early evening they have happy hour which consists of wine and hors d’oeuvres. My husband brought it up to our room for us to enjoy while I was getting ready for dinner. If you are back to the Inn before 10 pm after going out to dinner, they offer port wine and fresh cookies from 8 to 10 in the parlor. We were able to enjoy them one night during our stay as we got back in time. We stayed in the carriage house, room 503. It was on the stop floor. There are no elevators of course but that was ok with us. If you cannot climb stairs, I suggest staying on the first floor. The carriage house is directly behind the main house, just a few steps away. It was very quiet. I am a light sleeper so I knew regardless if we stayed in the carriage house or main, I would want a top floor. In the main house there are 4 levels. The old servant quarters are rooms in the basement and then there are 3 levels above. If you like to sleep in and do not want to hear noise I probably wouldn’t stay on the main level as that is where the parlor is, the dinning room ,and reception desk. The carriage house was completely renovated not too long ago. Our room was beautiful and had everything we needed. The bed had a memory foam mattress and was comfortable. We have a sleep number at home and like many no bed is as comfortable as your own, but I slept great at the Inn. Breakfast is served every morning in the dining room. It is southern style and absolutely delicious. We honestly could not have asked for a better stay. It was a short weekend trip this time but we will definitely come back and stay at the Inn. We absolutely loved our stay.

WWrightAnthonyWow, how to begin. The hotel and rooms are quite beautiful and the never ending view along the river with the almost constant movement of gigantic ships, is mesmerized. The location is also perfect with enough restaurants and shops within close proximity that you can find plenty to keep occupied even on the occasional rainy day. Now, with all that said, a caveat to any travelers wanting any semblance of rest. The second floor rooms are pure nightmare. There appears to be some sort of a supply room on that floor. The staff likes to use it for rather loud gossip and partying and when not in use by the staff, there apparently is a bowling league practice in there! The noise from tables and chairs and dishes being moved around at times even late into the night is just aggregating! The walls offer absolutely NO help in reducing the racket. Would we return to River Street Inn again? YES! As a matter of fact, we can't wait to return but, only if we would be guaranteed a room on the 4th or 5th floor!

The hotel is great and is located perfectly in historic Savanna. Everything is within walking distance. If you like the sound of yapping dogs, then this is the hotel for you! We had the experience of yapping dogs next door to our room. The dogs barked during the day and night. After the third complaint to the hotel staff, the sound of barking yapping dogs ceased. The hotel staff said they would take care of it and it seems that they did. Keep your animals at home. There is no need to inconvenience others because of your selfishness. Dogs aren’t children. I’d rather hear the sound of children than yapping dogs. I will certainly find a hotel that doesn’t allow dogs on my next visit to Savannah. Breakfast at the hotel is not worth it. I recommend going to one of the local establishments. Overall, the hotel was clean and the staff was friendly.

GGuest UserStaff were exceptional--everyone from front desk staff to the bartender and breakfast staff. All very nice and accommodating. Rooms were very clean and had what we needed. They don't have a gym on site but have a relationship with a local gym for hotel guests (if that matters to you). We were able to walk into the downtown area and felt safe doing so (about .5 miles from our hotel) but they also offer a shuttle with a very lovely driver who took great care of us! I would recommend this hotel if staying in Savannah.

AAnonymous UserThe service at the front desk was excellent: friendly, polite and helpful. The rooms were better than expected. Quiet. Comfortable beds. Clean.
The parking lot was on multiple levels attached to the hotel. So if you are living on the 5th floor then you could park on the 5th floor and use your room key to enter the hotel on the 5th floor. The location was ok, but not really close to any of the main attractions of Savannah. You will need to drive around 15-20 minutes to go to the main areas.
DDwayne CunninghamOlder property, but very well maintained and nicely updated. Indoor pool that stays open later than most was great. Nice seating area in the court yard. Good breakfast, kind and helpful staff.... I will stay with them again! Thanks guys!
NNINGThe small town of Savannah is retro and elegant, with a long history and a developed catering and tourism industry. I stayed at the BW Hotel for a week, and the neighbors all travelled with families, basically staying on a weekly basis. The breakfast is simple, with scrambled eggs, milk, coffee, sausage, waffles, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit and cakes. Parking is free, there is a swimming pool, and many people drink tea and chat in the two halls inside. The price of the hotel is reasonable, but there is no elevator. You need to carry your bag upstairs. If you live on the first floor, it doesn’t matter, the highest building is the second floor. It is very close to the air force base, and during the day you can see bombers roaring by.
The front desk service attitude is very good, happy and generous. The travel brochure on the first floor has everything. I found a local restaurant with a long history, King and I Thai restaurant, and Japanese cuisine. The hotel can store luggage, take a taxi to downtown for about 15 minutes, Lyft software $12 Uber $15. There are super cheap discount stores nearby, surprise.
Ask Forrest Gump for the same money; drink local coffee; chat with the chattering southerners...
This Spring Hill Suites is below par in Guest Service & safety. We were in our room around 9:00pm when we heard two people outside our door trying to get into our room. They turned the door handle numerous times, loudly knocked on our door and said this was their room. My husband told them, through the door, that they were at the wrong room. A short time later, the 2 people came back with what sounded like a male employee & stood outside our door talking. My husband called the front desk to let them know someone had tried to get into our room & claimed the room was theirs. The person at the front desk made it clear that she didn’t care & wasn’t going to do anything about it. He asked to speak with a manager and she said there were no managers at the hotel. A man from the front desk then called our room and asked what our names were. When my wife asked him why he was asking for our names, he hung up on her. My husband is a Marriott Lifetime Gold Elite member & we have stayed at Marriott properties for over 30 years. Before this stay we have never felt unsafe in Marriott properties and we have never been treated this disrespectfully before. This is unacceptable from Marriott/Bonvoy.
PPapa WFirst time staying here. I booked for the price and was totally surprised by the hotel. The young lady working the desk greeted me and had everything ready. Our room was 2 queen bed mobility assessable room. The room was clean and very comfortable. We noticed the walk-in shower did not have a bench or chair, so my wife called the desk. Within 3 minutes they delivered a shower chair. In my opinion the breakfast was above average. Scrambled eggs, sausage, hash rounds, waffles, fresh fruit. My wife enjoys Honey Wheat Cheerios and was happy they had the brand named cereal. The hotel has an indoor, kidney shaped pool and a hot tub. A lift chair was available for handicapped. My problem here was the1st step into the pool and hot tub. It was almost a foot high step and only one safety bar. Because of this my wife was not able to enter the pool. Otherwise our visit was great and we will stay here again.
GGuest UserThe hotel is located on the edge of the historic district, so it is a quick 10-15 minute walk to either River Street or even Forsyth Park. Even the standard suites are larger than most other similar properties. The beds were comfortable and the linens and towels were above average. All employees from the front desk to the breakfast servers and cleaning staff were very pleasant and friendly. Rated lower in the facility category as the outside landscaping by the sidewalks was **** filled and over grown. This really detracted from the exterior appearance. The fitness was large and has a good amount of cardio equipment but only had one, torn workout bench, no area/mats for core work and the hand weights were missing all 20lb and 25lb pairs. There should be other strength training options. The breakfast food options were presented in an attractive manner with good over all quality.

PPINGThere is a parking lot opposite, but the charge is not cheap. I lived in a sofa bed, the service staff was very kind and very safe. After 11 o'clock in the evening, the door was closed and the card was checked in. There was a black brother on duty at the door. The bed is very comfortable and very high. It is very high. I use it. The old beauty facilities are simple and practical. They are not luxurious but not refined but strong!
