Life is always busy, leaving little time for reflection. Before we knew it, three or four days had passed since we left the small village of Songzhuang.
We arrived on Saturday noon on the Yinyuan line bus from Songyang Bus Station in Sandu Township. The journey was bumpy, but along the way we saw many green tea plantations, bamboo groves, and paulownia trees—scenery rarely seen in Lingnan, seemingly ubiquitous in southwestern Zhejiang. The autumn sun shone on the mountain road, and the persimmon trees on both sides were laden with fruit. Vitality isn't exclusive to spring; Songzhuang's autumn is also exceptionally full of the power of growth. Besides the emotional impact of the drama festival deep in the mountains, the most exciting part of our two-day journey from Shenzhen to Songzhuang was this guesthouse.
Firstly, Songzhuang only has guesthouses. Secondly, only about three guesthouses are available for booking on the platform. If, like us, you're not fixated on hotel-style service, don't crave trendy photo spots, and don't have a particularly authentic atmosphere, then this is undoubtedly the best choice. The price is the lowest among the options, so a one- or two-day trip won't break the bank; the location is the best, right next to the stone bridge. Even the lowest-class room (only the room without a bathroom was available when we booked) at this place guarantees basic sleep, washing facilities, and meals. Entering through the entrance, passing a small shop and a cooking area, you reach a large hall typical of rural houses, but with a skylight letting in some natural light. Our room was located in this space. There's a lot of wood used here, giving it a faint tung oil smell; the bed is a bit firm, which is good for your back; the blankets are very soft and warm, making it easy to fall asleep. If I had to point out a drawback, it would be having to use the external bathroom for washing and the slightly poor soundproofing, but personally, I didn't seem to notice. After watching a show and taking a shower, I fell into a deep sleep.
However, I think what most people who have stayed here will remember most fondly is the landlady's hospitality. When we arrived, they handed us snacks and fruit platters, showed us around the village, and introduced us to various things. The next morning, they helped us find photo spots, took pictures for us, and prepared breakfast for us. Even when we rushed to catch the bus without saying goodbye, the landlady specially pulled us back and gave me some local specialties—I really didn't know how to refuse! I'm not good with words; as people in Shanghai say, ”Talking about feelings hurts money, talking about money hurts both feelings and money,” so I said nothing and silently accepted. When we left, the sun was shining brightly, and we walked up the stone-paved street. We saw the landlady being interviewed by a TV station below (she was wearing a microphone, I think), her face beaming with smiles, which truly made us feel the vitality of life.
The landlady was also very kind, telling me about the local yew tree, gentle and quiet, a perfect match with the landlady. The elderly and children were also full of life; it truly felt like home. Staying here, I felt a sense of joy and vitality, as if all the energy in the energy field was converging on me.
If I have the time, I think I'll come back.
I'll stay another night here, feel the breeze at the village entrance, listen to the water under the stone bridge, and experience the night in this small mountain village in southwestern Zhejiang.

The biggest feeling is that it is clean and quiet. You can slow down here and take a walk in the village if you have time. The room is the same as online, because my waist is not good, but the mattress is really comfortable, and the breakfast and everything are good ~

This village is still in the early stages of development, and its simplicity is its biggest feature. All the villagers we met when walking around the village, regardless of age or sex, were all smiles. Their accents were not clear when they were given directions, so they simply took us there. When we arrived at the place, the door of the cultural relic-level old house was closed, and the villagers who led the way pushed it open and called out the owner loudly to let us visit and introduce it to us. The B&B we stayed in was the first B&B in the village. It was built entirely out of logs and was designed and constructed by the host himself. When we walked around the village, we found other B&Bs under construction. It turned out that the host was helping to build houses for others. . The proprietress' cooking skills are very good, hotel-level. Our two families, four adults and two children, went out to play together. When the boss saw it, he took the initiative to upgrade us to a large suite, two independent suites plus a living room in the middle, and a small yard in front of the door. On August 15th of this year, I spent admiring the moon, drinking, drinking, and singing in this small courtyard. I will never forget it! Good accommodation doubles the travel experience! When I left, I said I wanted to write a long review for my boss, but after I came back, an elder in my family passed away, so I didn’t write until now. My boss, forgive me! Looking forward to meeting you next time!

Guest UserThe accommodation experience exceeded my expectations. Since the owner had just opened the property, I was a bit apprehensive before arriving. However, my concerns proved unfounded. I ate well, slept soundly, and kept my battery fully charged while nestled in the mountains. The winding road into the mountains was a real pleasure to drive, but if you're unfamiliar with the route, I recommend arriving before dark. The rooms are well-appointed, and each offers a breathtaking view of the expansive greenery.
Because it's an older building, the main structure of the rooms is made of wood, and the soundproofing is average. Loud noises from neighbors can be felt, but with such stunning views, this is perfectly acceptable. The in-room amenities are also state-of-the-art and detailed, including a fully automatic toilet, a powerful shower, and high-quality bedding. It's perfect for those who aren't particularly hardy to experience life deep in the mountains.

I didn't expect such a high-quality homestay in an ancient village.
The boss is super enthusiastic
Not only recommended the restaurant, there is invincible delicious local chicken soup,
I'll make tea when I arrive.
The homestay is a renovation of its own old house
But the furniture is very good.
What you see is what you get
The environment of the small village is great
Quiet and good to go shopping
It should be good to play in the water in summer.

The boss and the proprietress are both people of Yangjiatang, warm and thoughtful. The room is big enough, but it is still cold in winter, especially the meal is in the yard, the boss thoughtfully gave the brazier, the food is also very delicious, the facilities are slightly old, I don’t know if it is to cooperate with the atmosphere of the Chinese courtyard, if the room can be cleaned in time, it would be better.

ShengyiliaisuerchacengbuWe were traveling with our children and stayed in a suite. The room was clean, especially the quilts and bath towels, which were white as new. Every room was very tidy, and even our children, who are a little bit obsessed with mysophobia, praised it highly. The proprietress ordered dinner for us, but I forgot to pay until I left the hotel and was on my way home. I contacted the proprietress and added him on WeChat before transferring the money to him. They were very nice, especially the beautiful scenery next to the hotel, which really looked like a landscape painting. It was so beautiful that you could see it from the hotel window. If nothing happened, I would really like to stay a few more days.

Bill_1995A very satisfying stay at our B&B. Our hosts were a very welcoming elderly couple. Upon arrival, the elderly host enthusiastically greeted us with a ”Hello, you're here!” It made us feel like home. After checking in, they enthusiastically helped us carry our luggage upstairs and warmly invited us to dinner. We ultimately opted for noodles at Baixian Noodle House, a local specialty. It happened to be right next door to the B&B, and since the two families are family friends, we brought them over to eat in the courtyard. The elderly host sat with us, drinking and chatting about the past. It was truly delightful. In the morning, the host even took us to a delicious local breakfast and gave us a travel guide for first-time visitors. Fantastic!

The room was clean and well-equipped, with parking available right outside. It's a 5-minute walk from Yangjiatang, making it perfect for watching the sunrise in the morning. The sunlight creates the most beautiful filter, making you glow.
P1: The breakfast the owner's mother-in-law prepared for us. We slept until after 10 a.m., but she still left a hot breakfast for us. How thoughtful! She even packed up some for us to eat on the way. 😄 The owner said she'd arrange this for us next time.
P2: The sunset shot taken right outside the B&B. Sitting outside, enjoying the breeze and stargazing. 💫
P3: We didn't have a car, so getting to the county town was inconvenient. That evening, the owner drove my niece and me to an alley off the old street for dinner (I forgot what it was called, but it's pictured). Thumbs up! I'll be back next time.
