A charming and luxurious historical hotel in Merced
"Loved our stay here! Elegant old hotel with updated everything...but still retains a classic charm. Room was comfortable and clean with all new fittings and fixtures. (I was kind of hoping for a more antique/vintage/original feel, but once we were settled in, I appreciated the modernity of all the appointments).
Cocktail from the bar was fantastic! The seating areas off the lobby were comfortable and pleasant to use. Dinner at the restaurant was elegant. Breakfast at the cafe was delicious (coffee and savory pastry). Staff were all friendly, helpful and accommodating.
Highly recommend."
The hotel has a kitchenette, dishwasher, kitchenware, and two people are very good for simple meals. Health is very good and the big bed is comfortable. We went to Yosemite for one night and came back the next day and stayed for another night. Some rooms will be noisy and fast.
The hotel is located far from the civilization, but for one night as a transplant is quite comfortable. The room is modern, there is everything in it. I recommend.
This is a small chain hotel, just off the Merced Exit 99, about 70 miles from Yosemite. We use it as a transit hotel to the scenic area, convenient, hygienic, moderate distance, more than 300 miles from Los Angeles, five hours.
