Hotels in Sydney Central Business District, Surry Hills

The room is a bit small, and the front desk is set in the bar, but the room has to go out of the bar and go upstairs through a separate small door next door. There is no elevator. Fortunately, the stairs are not high, and there are three floors in total. The advantage is that the location is good, very close to various bus stops, and the city center. There is a free coffee and milk tea machine on the second floor, but no one seems to take care of it. The sound insulation effect is average, and people's voices in the aisle can be heard. Overall, it's okay, after all, the price has an advantage and the location is good.

We stayed here 3 nights in our travel trip before moving to Melbourne. The hotel located in centre of the city. Price of room staying is valueable. Breakfast is not very good but IBIS' brf at 3 star hotel always like this. Nice staffs. We left early morning with great brf take away. One thing we are not really happy is that we had to wait for a 35-40 mins to check in, even we came after 15:00. But overall we had good time at the hotel.

Julien and Michael, we stayed from Sunday night to Tuesday morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. I like the room it had lots of space and was very warm. Bed good and comfy, slept well each night. Bathroom Nice and cosy. Shower was always warm and pressure good.

Although my room was very nice and what I expected, unfortunately my overall experience was not very pleasant at this hotel. The staff at the front desk was not only rude, they actually suggested that I find another hotel during check-in because I pointed out a fee discrepancy (credit card surcharges) that was not disclosed during my booking reservation on Trip.com app. Meriton properties doesn’t disclose before, during, or after the reservation (Trip.com) that a credit card usage fee will be added, and that’s dishonest in my opinion. What’s disappointing is the attitude I get for pointing out Meriton’s mistake. First they pointed to the sign on the front desk, however I didn’t make this reservation while standing in their front lobby. Second, they said I should have booked on their website next time where it’s disclosed—perhaps then Trip.com should remove them from their approved hotel list. Finally, to learn of the policy while I check-in by pointing to a sign at the front desk, and then being told that if I don’t like the policy that “I can checkout and take my business elsewhere”, was the last straw and is the definition of horrible customer service and poor resolution management. They could have handled this issue differently and just said, “we will look into it and try to do a better job of informing our customers of our policy online. We apologize for this miscommunication.” They did email me afterwards with an apology but they still didn’t acknowledge their dishonesty in not disclosing their credit card usage fee on Trip.com app.

I first stayed at Sydney Hilton in 2006 and the quality is still of that high standard after many years. It’s always great to meet good people, I always look forward to be welcomed by reception staff. On this occasion, Alisa was exceptional. When I asked for a specific room, which was unavailable, Alisa offered a room upgrade, which came with executive lounge access. This was greatly appreciated, as the Lounge on the 36th floor is one of the highlights of staying at the Hilton. It really did make my stay much more memorable. Thanks to the great staff including Ceria and Tatiana for making us welcome and fulfilling any requests we had. Room was a corner 1 bedroom 2602 and we loved it. Building had 27 floors and I love high floors. No issues with either lift. Can't understand other reviewers complaining about no servicing of rooms. Upon check-in we were advised just ask. We did and the room was serviced excellently. Had a welcome bev/snack package on arrival in room for Accor Diamond level and was great. Also had Easter bag hanging on door with choc eggs and more on Easter Sunday. So, loved the room, the staff, view of QVB and Sydney tower and convenient location. Keep up the great work!

We stayed for two nights at the end of May. Our room was quiet & clean even if in need of a refurbish, which presumably, going by the building works going on, is in progress. The building works didn't impinge on our stay at all. Our breakfast (which was included in our room rate), was surprisingly good. The area it was served in was very clean and bright. We found all the staff to be pleasant. Being able to checkin & checkout on line made things move quicker, especially the checkout. The cost of accommodation in the city is very high so we were pleased that Song Hotel was a bit more affordable to us.

The location of this hotel is very good. Walk to Museum metro station. You can take the subway from the airport without changing trains in the middle. But basically there is no facade, just like the illustration, a small sign. Pay attention. The room was quite clean, but there was no toothbrush or toothpaste. The bathroom is very small. There is free Wi-Fi in the room. Breakfast is average. Along the Pitt street at the entrance, you can walk to the seaside pier (that is, the Opera House), and you can also walk to Chinatown and city hall. There are trams on Geroge street, buy a transport card. Swipe it before getting in the car, and swipe it after getting off the car. The place to swipe the card is on the platform, but there is no swipe on the car. The tram also goes to the beach. Will pass through the busiest shopping mall.

This little gem is incredible! Great modern hipster style vibe and decor. We had a seamless check-in and we're even able to check in early! Staff were so incredibly helpful and couldn't do more to share information or help us understand what's going on in the area. The double room was awesome and super clean with great beds and pillows. We loved the couch in the room, great selection at the minibar and we had a record player in the room. Breakfast was great downstairs and reasonably priced, we also were able to get a bit of a later checkout which was awesome. The area is 15 or so minute walk to the city and this awesome rooftop bakery was a super close 5 minute walk up the road (AP Bakery) - although we do recommend booking ahead. Another 15 minute walk we had the Surry Hills Markets that were great too! Overall, awesome hotel, great location and incredibly helpful staff! Would absolutely stay again.

Really beautiful hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean, the lobby bar is lovely and the little touches like bottles of water and big, fluffy bath sheets instead of tiny hotel towels makes for a very comfortable stay.
