Fairfield by Marriott Wakayama Kumano Kodo Susami

For the same price as hotels near Kyoto Station, this place offers more than double the space. The only downside was having to drag two large suitcases up a slope when checking out, which was a bit tiring. The communal area downstairs boasts amazing sea views, and there are various tea bags and soup packets available, plus a free hot spring. You can choose your daily cleaning time, which is great for sleeping in, and the front desk staff (both younger and older gentlemen) speak excellent English, making communication a breeze.

1. There's a Lawson convenience store right across from Jiang Station (the only place in the entire village to buy anything). 2. It's about an 800-meter walk to the hotel if you're pulling luggage. The path is mostly flat and easy to navigate, but the uphill and downhill sections can be tiring. 3. The hotel bedding was very comfortable. I paid extra (HKD 75) to upgrade to a sea view room. 4. Breakfast was a set meal for one person, with different options each of the two days, and it was tasty. 5. The sea view is stunning.

An excellent hotel, everyone working here is very dedicated. The hotel is right by the sea, and the sea view rooms are fantastic. The outdoor hot spring is incredibly comfortable. I'll definitely come back if I get the chance. My only minor wish is for more dining options nearby.
