"This motel has been around for quite a number of years and has begun to show its age. However, a new owner has recently taken over and it looks like things will be on the up in the not too distant future. The main positive I have to mention is that the bed and pillows were very comfortable. That counts for a lot in my book. The bathroom was quite small and the shower box felt cramped. Additionally the ergonomics were a bit of a problem. The ”wardrobe” for your clothes was immediately adjacent to the cooking area and you had to manipulate the curtains carefully to keep out the brightness of the security lighting immediately outside the windows. There is a beautifully maintained swimming pool available for customers. However, the area surrounding the pool was a let down. The grass was in urgent need of mowing and edges needed trimming. Additionally the front garden and grassed area was poorly maintained and does not create a good first impression when driving in. A security camera has been installed so you can leave your car parked safely knowing that all will be well. We had a couple of otherwise comfortable nights here but I look forward to seeing how the programme of improvements will work out."
This lovely small cottage originally came into my family as a retirment home for my (then) 90 year old mother, Olive. She loved the place except for its original colour and so promptly painted it Pink. The house has many of her touches still in it, such as the cross stitch pictures framed on the walls.Nana Olive was well known through Tokoroa for her hospitality and warm welcome she offered at the Pink House, and we are delighted to continue this tradition. We are located a 2 minute drive, or 10 minute walk from downtownTokoroa.
