Hotel Grand Toya Reviews

The location is the best which just one minute walking distance to the bus terminal to/from Toya Station and in front of the ferry pier. Please see my photo. Perfect location. The front desk receptionist lady was friendly. I was placed to a lake view Japanese style room. It doesn't include shower but toilet in the room and it looks like old but I love the room. The view from the room's window to Lake Toya was excellent. I love my room's window can be opened, I could see more clear to the lake view and to have fresh air from outside by opening the window. Even it was a raining day, cloudy and frosty. The view is still spotless good. The service was good. The room was clean, tidy and come with all necessity, but bath/shower excluded. However, based on the price, I was happy with it because I don't mind to use the bathroom in the onsen area on floor one. There was only two down side that I found: First, the male onsen area floor was sticky and slippery with moss (My left hand accidentally touched it and my hand was sticked with moss in outdoor onsen area) that includes indoor and outdoor area. I wish they would take more effort to the cleanliness of onsen area. Second, the suana was not available for customer to use. However, I had a fantastic sauna and onsen in 万世閣 (a hotel where is just a few minutes walk away from Toya Grand Hotel) by a paying walk in onsen fee(1300 yen) for non-resident. So, it didn't affect me much. Overall, my experience was good. I would give Toya Grand Hotel 8 out of 10. I love Toya Grand Hotel. I would recommend it.

the total experince is great this is very trditional japanese style hot spring hotel the room is quite historial cosy and nice , the lake view is awesome. the price included the dinner and beakfast is really good i would like to recommend this hotel to my friend

-the room was tidy when first move-in but did not clean the bin for 2 days stay -Described as lake view but changed my room to lower G/F floor which was unable to see any lake view -the hot spring smelled moldy and some of the tiles in pool were peeling off. - understand the hotel was old fashion, but appeared to be more justified for the rate charged to us with better maintenance.

This is a hotel which look like from the 80s of last century. The location is very nice which is situated in the front of the lake. Apart from that, everything looks so old. The room which I stayed was big bu which is on the first floor close the the onsen and public toilet. Some people always talk outside so that the room is not quiet all the time. The window of this room is facing the lake. However, due to the privacy, a lot of plants blocking the view of people walking pass the room. It makes the room a little dark and no view. Moreover, the aren't enough plug for charging device too.

A very good check-in experience, clean and tidy bedding, warm room, specially prepared snacks, and ice water with ice cubes. The service is really meticulous and reflects the high-quality service standards of the Japanese. I give the hotel a thumbs up!

The facilities are relatively old, but the location is excellent. You can walk out to the lake to watch the fireworks.

The location of the hotel is great and the dinner was great. After dinner, you can watch the fireworks and then go to the soup. Wake up and take a boat trip on the lake the next day. It's relaxing and you don't have to worry about parking.

The front desk was very enthusiastic and introduced everything to me in great detail. Although the tool room is right opposite my door and there are occasional noises, the women's hot spring is not far away. You can take a bath and soak in the hot spring as soon as you put on your yukata. When there are not many people, you can also enjoy the open-air hot spring. It is very comfortable. After a long journey, Get a good rest in this little scenic spot. The boat on Lake Toya is worth taking and you can go to Nakajima. There will be fireworks at 8:45 p.m.

Japanese style room with nice view outside the window

When tourists stay in your hotel for the first time, they must not be familiar with all aspects. The staff only explained a lot of rules when checking in, but did not proactively remind tourists at critical moments. For example, at 7:10 in the morning, we saw heavy snow falling outside the window. We were excited and rushed to take pictures. When we returned and walked through the hotel front desk at 8:40, the waiter hurriedly said that it was past breakfast time and we could not eat. . (Meal time: 7:00～8:30) I thought, why not remind me like this when I go out? When I asked the waiter if he had any simple extra food, he refused. Of course, the breakfast fee would not be refunded. In addition, the hotel is expensive, the facilities are old, and the Japanese-style rooms are average. For this price, you can stay in a better four-star hotel. I hope Toya Grand Hotel can improve its service awareness!

The hotel is very close to Toyako Onsen Station, 1 minute walk. You can enjoy the beautiful view of Lake Toya from the hotel window. The Japanese breakfast and dinner provided by the hotel were delicious. The hotel staff are welcoming.

It should be an earlier hotel in the Lake Toya hot spring street. The rooms and facilities are relatively old, but the location is very good. It is very close to the Toya Lake hot spring bus stop, and there is Lake Toya behind. 24-hour hot spring bathing, but Japanese bathing is all You have to soak in the nude. It’s like a big bathhouse. When you check in, you will explain the rules of bathing and provide bathrobes. There are also toilets and bathtubs in the room. All the facilities are complete. The free facial cream is very good. It is made of hot spring water. The combination of water and milk, I bought a few more bottles to take back when I left. Lake Toya has fireworks at 8:45 every night from April to October. There are not many people and you can see them in the room, but it is better to go to the lake to see the fireworks. The fireworks are set off on the boats in the lake.
