The front desk “manager”, Sylvia, was extremely rude. I called to try to resolve an issue with my husband’s reservation since he was at work at the time, Sylvia answered and before I could finish explaining why I was calling she began talking over me and telling me that I was wrong about my husband’s reservation. I tried explaining, offering solutions, or just speaking in general, but she is just such a poorly trained and rude employee that she would not allow me to say more than a few words without speaking over me. The thought occurred to me that perhaps she couldn’t hear me very well and I started speaking more loudly and not stopping when she would interrupt me. That resulted in her claiming that I was yelling, screaming and insulting her. She declared that she was cancelling my husband’s reservation and wanted my people (because my brother in law that was there in the lobby doesn’t speak English…Hispanics…my people) out of HER hotel and then she hung up on me. I called back and asked if she hung up on me and she admitted that she did and that she was not going to tolerate being yelled and cursed at. I never yelled and I certainly never cursed. She just kept repeating herself and hung up again. My brother in law said that he spoke with her at length before I called and she was very rude to him as well and made comments with racist tones to him as well. I looked at the reviews just now before posting and was so shocked (or maybe I should have expected it) to see that many others had almost identical experiences to mine. How does she still work there? The manager Paul called me at one point after Wyndham customer service reached out to him, but I think he did so without realizing I was a customer and once he realized he disconnected and blocked my number (really weird). I’ve seen Paul’s cookie cutter responses on several of the bad reviews on here, so I’m not sure if anyone will take this complaint seriously. Bottom line: Sylvia is rude, argumentative, should never work in any form of customer service, called me “horrible” because I asked her to *please* allow me to speak, and she is probably racist. Knowing all this, management still allows her to work there. Beware.

Preface: I am an airline flight crew member who lives over half of my life in hotels. This is the hotel our airline puts us up. We do not stay in luxury 5 star hotels... Upon check-in we were given a notice that there is no daily housekeeping because the hotel is unable to hire enough housekeepers and their occupancy is up and they are not able to meet demand. Also, to call the front desk if amenities are needed. I cal the front desk anyway? We stay in hotels for about 8 to 10 hours at a time so I never use daily housekeeping. Having said this, the room was clean and the property appears well maintained. The reason for the low rating: The walls are ridiculous thin. One can hear conversation in the adjacent rooms clearly. One can hear TV as well. I'm talking about TV and conversation that is reasonable levels. I don't want to be a whiner, but it's (that) bad. The gym is sp****. A couple of cardio machines. A set of mismatched dumbbells that go to 40 lbs. Some of the weight increments are missing and some are missing one of the dumbbells. I know hotels have a problem with theft of dumbbells from those who steal these to use as weights for flea market tent hold downs. The gym is small as well. In room has a nice TV. Has one of those crappy CV1 coffeemakers. Small refrig. in room and a real bath tub as opposed to walk in shower. A big deal breaker!!! (If I were choosing a hotel) Has one of those motion sensing thermostats which is also controlled remotely! These should be BANNED! No problem with staff. They seemed friendly and attentive.

Adobe Rose Inn

I had a wonderful relaxing stay for a week in August when I stayed in Tucson while my son started as a freshman at the University of Arizona. The Inn is just a couple of blocks walk from the University in the Sam Hughes neighbourhood, which I felt very safe walking through by myself. The Inn is a true oasis in the desert, with a beautiful garden, sparkling swimming pool, a magnificent 3 course breakfast cooked by Dina every morning and spacious, immaculately clean bedrooms beautifully decorated with local Arizona crafts and furnishings. I stayed in the Casita room which had a separate lounge room and was separate from the main building so I felt like I had plenty of space to myself but could also chat with the other guests at breakfast. Dina made lovely banana muffins and there were snacks and plenty of bottled water we could enjoy during the day which I really appreciated. The inn felt like my own home in Tucson, with free wifi, a mini fridge, coffee machine, microwave, air conditioning and 2 TVs in my room and Dina was absolutely the best hostess. Not only was she an amazing cook but she gave me great tips on places to visit like Tombstone and the Desert Museum. I stayed at 2 other hotels in Tucson during my stay but neither came even slightly close to the Adobe Rose Inn. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Thank you so much to the Adobe Rose Inn and Dina for such a lovely stay.

We met Alicia in the bar/restaurant and she made us the best margaritas. The dinner was good. The pizza was large and the lasagna was homemade, yummy. The room was clean and we loved the layout of this suite. We had a trailer which they accomodated us for the space. The people were so nice and helpful. If you stay here say hi to Alicia in the restaurant/bar. Oh and they have starbucks coffee and danish. Our visit was very smooth. no complaints.

Always a good sign when you stay at the same place a second time. We like to get the 2-bedroom suite (with loft) when we come to Tucson because it's a lot of space to spread out for the four of us. Full kitchen, two bathrooms, the works. Breakfast was included in a grab-and-go format. It had a fair amount of choices, though the egg burritos were inedible. Service was fine, and the room was clean. Barking dogs in an adjacent unit, but otherwise quiet. It was a little chilly in the room, and there was no easy way to raise the heat or find thick blankets. Overall, still a great place, and we would likely come back a third time.
