My family and I stayed at “Casas do Juizo” for a long weekend. It is a very special place, recovered village houses in this picturesque small village in the Côa valley. The tiny stone houses and narrow street are beautiful and lost in time, very well preserved. The lodging is very well decorated, our house had 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and a kitchen /living room area, all perfectly clean, perfectly restored with traditional features and a fireplace. But at the same time with all the modern comforts, fully equipped kitchen (including microwave and expresso machine), walking shower, air conditioning. The owners/staff was very nice, always ready to help and to make you feel at home. The swimming pool was small but nice for the kids and to relax, in this Covid-19 time we can book a time slot in the swimming pool just for us so it was perfect to play. There are also some farm animals around, donkey, ducks, chickens… a nice area for sunbathing and to walk around the nature, just enjoying the silence. You can order breakfast from “Taberna do Juiz” (same owners) and they bring a gorgeous breakfast basket to your door in the morning with lots of fresh fruit, milk, coffee, bread, croissants, cheeses, hams, local biscuits, yogurts ad fresh juice, …. Just perfect. The location is also good to go around the Côa valley, it is in the middle of the historic villages trails. Great for families, our kids love it!
