The airport is on the Canadian line, under the town of Yale, and the subway is just across the road. At the door of the hotel, a few minutes to the right, there is a locomotive showroom where the staff warmly introduces Vancouver's tourist attractions. After going through this showroom, walk a few more minutes and get to the beach. This is the water bus, and you can get more than four Canadian dollars to Granville Island. Stroll around the island, walk to the Vancouver Maritime Museum, then walk to the town, take bus number 7, get off at Gastown, walk from Gastown to Canada Square, watch Leap Canada, great, take the Canada Plaza, sit The Canadian line returned to the hotel in two stops. There is no need to talk about the hotel room, comfortable, clean, very comfortable to bathe, breakfast is a set meal, delicious. good service. The hotel staff is warm and courteous.

To set the context I am a seasoned hotel/motel traveler, having over 900 nights stays in the last 10 years alone. This is the 1st time I will be writing a terrible review for a business. I was excited to find this place as I was travelling with my 2 dogs and liked the cottage style accommodations and green space. I was personally excited by the history of this establishment and all of the TV shows and Movies filmed there over the years. I pulled into the parking lot to check in at 2pm and was informed by the front desk person that check in was at 4pm and there was NO way my room would be ready until 4pm. I did note that I thought 4pm was a bit of a late check in time, and the clerk told that ”it is common place for most hotels and motels to have a check in at 4pm”, I quickly noted that in over 900 hotel stays this was the first place that had that late a check in. I asked him if there was nay chance that the room might be ready before 4pm, noting that i had 2 dogs that were tired from there travels in the car, the response was quick and emphatic NO! Telling me again that check in is at 4pm, like I had not heard that the first time. I stayed very calm and said well if the room is ready before the 4pm check in time here is my cell # and if you could kindly give me a call. I then set off for some lunch and a long walk with the dogs (both senior dogs 16 &14). I returned at 3:45pm and found a new person at the front check and asked if my room was ready? The answer ”sorry it has not been cleaned yet”, ”okay can you tell me the room number so I can at least park and prepare to unload?” he did tell me the number and i found the room. As check in was now only 15 minuets away we could wait out those 15 mins. At 3;50pm i watched a very under motivated cleaning person arrive and slowly proceed to clean the room. I had a 5:30pm appointment in Port Moody with my daughter and her husband and their dog so i was i a bit of a hurry. I went back the the hotel lobby at 4:10 pm and said BTW it's now 4:10 can i have my keys? The reply was ”well we haven't finished cleaning the room yet” , I returned with ”i thought check in was 4pm and it's now 10 after 4”. Okay I was still very calm and though no need to get excited or angry at this person because he clearly DOES NOT CARE. So we waited and I returned at 4:30 as time was getting tight for my plans. ”Is my room ready now?” , ”oh there seems to be a problem with the sink” - ”ok when will the sink be fixed? ” ” I don't know but I have called maintenance' , ”ok when will maintenance arrive”, ”I really don't know” not the answers I was looking for, ”ok do you have another room?” answer ”No” - ”okay when to you expect that I can get into my room ?” I thought a fair question - answer ” I don't know” - now just silence hung in the air - I spoke next and said well i think i will need to cancel my room and get a refund. ”that's up to you” said the front desk person. I then canceled asked a refund which was credited back in my c

There is no restaurant, breakfast can only be eaten in the room, parking is expensive and you have to pay for it yourself.

This was perfectly adequate for my one night stay prior to a cruise. The location is easily accessible from the train from the airport and less than a mile from the cruise terminal. It is no frills but clean. I had a shared bathroom which was a concern but it was fine. You share the bathroom with another room and you will hear them in there but, again, it was one night. There was a sink in the room which was good as you didn't need the bathroom for basic teeth brushing, etc. If I was doing an overnight in Vancouver again, I'd go back.

The proprietress was super nice. Seeing me bring my children over, I temporarily upgraded to a separate bathroom room. Very close to Elizabeth Park, there are shopping malls and supermarkets within a 10-minute walk

A very centrally located hotel. A continental style breakfast can be included in your stay. The room did have a galley kitchen with a microwave, fridge and oven. One down side was the lamps in the bedroom area. The switches were very dodgy. In fact we unplugged them and used only the main lights. The staff were very helpful.
