The hotel room was decent, the bathroom was clean and I had hot water running all through the day. The stuff was really nice..they cleaned my room everyday and one of them also carried my luggage all the way up to my cab (~1km away from the hotel) after checking out.
The property practically opens into the Munshi ghat, so it is really easy to get there.
My main concern was the hotel entrance which I would not recommend for those with limited mobility or the elderly. It's deep inside the Galis and it is not at all easy to bring one's luggage through the narrow, dirty lanes. Also, there are dogs and monkeys in the area so please watch out for food items you are carrying. The room was pretty clean. I had a slightly leaky flush in my toilet. They supplied two bottles of drinking water everyday.

The room was adequate but compared to the price you pay it is very poor. The room was dirty. The bed sheet had hairs and stains on it. The shower drain did not work so the water almost ran into the room. We asked to clean the room, but they then cleaned it again with dirty brushes, which had no effect. They also changed the sheets when we asked, which is very nice, but the new sheets were just as dirty with stains and hairs. The staff is friendly and they want to help you, but the result is not worth the price at all.

AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!! We arrive at the hotel early in the morning, we ask for the best room and they show us their best room on the 4th floor terrace and so far nothing bad. We go down and give our documents for check in; price per night 3000 rupees. They tell us to wait until 11am to check in. Let's go out for a walk and come back. When we returned, the room had been given to someone else and they offered us another room, however horrendous, on the first floor, at the price of 6000 rupees. We asked for explanations but nothing to say. Truly incompetent staff. Obviously we left and will not recommend it to anyone.

The room was on the 4th floor with a huge window overlooking the Ganges, a large and modern room with an equally large bathroom. Clean with sheets that are not broken or stained.
