Alloggi SS Giovanni e Paolo

Venice City Center Venice|0.01km from Chiesa dell'Ospedaletto e Sala della Musica
A lovely hotel in a quiet area, yet only a few minutes walk to all the sights. I had a few queries before visiting which were answered very quickly via email. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The man on the reception desk had an encyclopaedic knowledge of Venice and all her sights and places to eat. He was also very interested in our experiences of his recommendations on our return. The room was clean and comfortable. A small fridge was provided as well as a bottle of water. Top tip: keep the bottle and refill from the water fountain around the corner. The location is excellent. It is wonderful sitting having breakfast in a café nearby, listening to the swifts calling overhead in the cool morning air. Breakfast was provided but we declined as we wanted to be up and out early. You need to provide payment card details so any damage can be paid for but this is fairly standard. It is communicated on the website. Also a city tax is payable but this is very small in comparison to city taxes elsewhere in the world. I don’t know why people are still surprised by these things. I can only think that they don’t research. To the staff: Thank you for making my daughter and I feel so welcome and making our room up to our needs. We really enjoyed our time in Venice and when I return with the rest of the family in the future your hotel will be our first choice.

Locanda la Corte

Venice City Center Venice|0.11km from Chiesa dell'Ospedaletto e Sala della Musica
In my 40+ years of travelling I have to say that the two nights I spent at Locanda La Corte are amongst the best nights I have ever had abroad. The property met all expectations on being an ancient 16th century building that has completely renovated and transformed into a fantastic family-owned guest house. The location is perfect; on the edge of a canal far enough away from the crowds to enjoy the beauty of Venice and the natural pace of Venetian life, but close enough to be within easy walking distance of the main tourist attractions. However, it is the staff and owner’s dedication to providing a “home away from home” that really sets Locanda La Corte apart. We pre-booked the restaurant for our first night on the basis of the previous reviews and the attraction of music. It was an excellent choice; not only was the food superb but we had our first taste of Rami’s attentiveness to his guests. He came around each table at every course to talk us through the cookery and check everything was fine. He did that in his guise as Head Chef. Later in the evening, it was apparent he was the owner, then later still he popped up as the bass guitarist to accompany Frankie, the guitarist in between all his hosting duties. Just when I thought things couldn’t’t get any better, they heard I was a musician and I was invited up to play a song with an encore between me, Rami and Frankie. Next night we the nearby pizzeria that Rami also owns. Despite the pizzeria being already packed, Rami, who had popped up in the pizzeria, greeted us like long-lost friends and squeezed in another table to accommodate us, introducing us to his wife, the waiting staff and the musician while the table was set up. The pizza here was wonderful, as was the service and the hospitality. We finished the night off back in the restaurant at Locanda La Corte, where Rami was back as chef, owner, guitarist and all-round great guy, and I was ‘dragged’ back up to play another couple of songs with the guys. This was my 4th trip to Venice but definitely not my last and when I return again there is only one place I would consider staying; my “home away from home”, Locanda La Corte.

The front desk service is good, the consultation will be very detailed, the breakfast is OK, anyway, the European breakfast is like that, the hotel is on the main island, walking distance from St. Mark's Square and DFS shopping place for ten minutes, but coming from the water bus dock It takes ten minutes, then the road in Venice is not allowed to navigate. Several bridges, if you don't pay attention, you may be able to go back and forth to pick up the luggage and pick up the bridges. People with big luggage should be carefully selected, unless you take the taxi on the water to the hotel entrance. The square, when the return trip, let the hotel people ask people to pay 20 euros to pull the box to the dock.

Opposite a quaint church with a river in front of it, three minutes' walk from San Marco, quiet in the middle of noisy.

The location of this hotel is great no complaints about it, the stuff is nice friendly and helpful too. The room itself is old without anything other than beds cardboard and a very old school hair dryer. I don’t know why but they don’t even have something to hang the toilet paper which is pretty funny. The 1st day the housekeeper was good we came back to a nicely cleaned room, the 2nd day was like the housekeeper just did what the eyes can see they never even clear away the old towels and all. If a short stay for the location it’s alright but as a 4 star hotel I have no idea how they got it.
