My friend and I stayed at the Old Orleton Inn on a Saturday night because my bathroom and kitchen were out of action due to remodelling and we discovered a real gem. Sophie and David were really welcoming and accommodating (giving me green tea in my room instead of breakfast tea). The little touches like the complimentary pack of little chocolates and quality biscuits and bottles of locally sourced water, added a touch of luxury. The beds were comfortable and the whole place quaint and cosy. The food provided by Craig, the chef, was excellent (worth a visit in its own even if you weren’t staying the night). A good evening menu and a very hearty breakfast. As the only room vacant was facing the road I was worried that it may have been noisy, but I didn’t need to worry, as the glazing of the windows made it quiet. The proximity to Shrewsbury and Telford was convenient too. The only thing I would say (why it hasn’t got 5 stars, nit picking I know 🤪) is that our room had a step up into the bathroom which might not suit anyone with mobility issues, but I know they have many other rooms without this feature. The room rate was also reasonable compared to other properties in the area. Definitely value for money. In all we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. Thank you Sophie, David and Craig.
