The Swan Hotel, Wells, Somerset

We visited wells and stopped here to have lunch. I very much enjoyed my food, and ate all that I could. The servers were professional and efficient. The food came quick compliments to Kitchen team. However, the green leaf used was extremely bitter! Warning. The water mugs could have used some cleaning way too much water stains.

Our third visit to the Swan, great to be back to this quirky and welcoming hotel. We had a very comfortable and spotless newly refurbished room, definitely one to ask for next time! Staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel is in a great location, we wished we’d booked for more than three nights, but will be back!

Fantastic Deluxe room with comfortable bed and fluffy pillows. A sitting room and lovely large bathroom with lovely toiletries. We loved the little extras including fluffy dressing gown, slippers and well stocked tray with tea , coffee pods and locally made flap jack. The staff were very friendly and efficient especially the lovely lady on reception. Hope to come again.

We stayed for two nights whilst we were house hunting in the area. The hotel's location is fabulous being just a short walk from the Cathedral. The housekeeping and restaurant staff were also lovely and very helpful. The bar staff could learn to smile a little more but they were efficient and polite. Unfortunately the building is looking a little tired. We were in room 53 which overlooked a very pleasant looking outside patio area. The room, whilst was perfectly serviceable, however, there were a few points which needed attention. There was quite a bad water stain in the shower, one of the net curtains was ripped, one of the windows could not close properly which was not a bother for us but could be for other guests. The walls were a bit bashed and scuffed and generally it did look as though it could do with a refresh. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay and would love to return in the future if we are in the area again.

This old hotel fully met our needs when we stayed overnight when visiting the little city of Wells and the beautiful surroundings. It could not be more convenient for the cathedral, Bishop's Palace, and Vicar's Walk. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. All staff we met were friendly and helpful, and we thoroughly enjoyed a chat and a drink in the bar with the general manager and ops manager. Breakfast was plentiful and nicely freshly cooked. This is an old, former coaching inn with access to the car park through the classic arch through which stagecoaches arrived in days of yore. Car parking space is limited and not always available (we were lucky). The room price per night is very reasonable, and we left feeling we had good value for money.

This was such a great choice. I came for a wedding, so only stayed for a night. It was extremely well located and it was so welcoming. The room was lovely and had gorgeous views to the cathedral. I loved the majestic decoration and complimentary products. The staff was super kind and the breakfast tasted like heaven. Strongly recommended. Would love to go back!

Had a lovely stay with friends perfect location lovely atmosphere. Didn't eat at the hotel but did use the bar.
