Gorgeous historical place, spectacular dining food and very good services

Clean and cost-effective, the breakfast is delicious, and the waiters are also very nice!

We stayed here with some friends from the Midlands on 20th April, rooms 5 & 7. We arrived just before they stopped serving lunch, which was handy as we hadn’t had a chance to get anything. Lunch was excellent. As many reviewers have mentioned you will probably need to book for dinner. Our friends had to book a table for 6pm. A bit earlier than we’d normally eat but it wasn’t a problem. Dinner was amazing and we were able to stay at our table chatting for most of the evening before retiring to the bar. Many beers and vino callapsos followed until a young lady popped her head around the corner to say they were going home - oops we’d lost track of time. Sorry guys. Our room was large and the bed comfy. The shower was great too. Couldn’t fault the breakfast. The staff were helpful and attentive. The following day we popped over to Burford, always worth a visit. Thanks for a great weekend and hope to see you soon.

We held my Mothers birthday lunch today at The Bird in Hand there were 19 of us. A warm friendly atmosphere excellent service and wonderful fresh food. Most had roasts the meat was tender and plenty of fresh vegetables Thank you to the whole team for having us we will return

The visit was for dinner with my family. From start to finish the whole evening was excellent. The serving staff were attentive and knowledgeable about the food and whether local or not. I had the arancini as a starter followed by the pie. Both were sublime. The pie was crammed with high quality and tender beef. The pub itself is very tastefully and traditionally decorated. I would return in an instant

I cannot recommend this inn enough! This is our third stay at the Bird in Hand and our brother and sister in law and family joined us this time. The food, the service, the accommodation, the rooms are always clean and warm. They cater for all different allergies and intolerances and will amend any of the menu to your preference. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. If you haven’t stayed in the cotswolds before this accommodation is a must as is a trip to burford, bourton on the water, crocodiles of the world and Cotswolds wildlife park. Thank you!

Wow. Where to begin. We came this evening as a family of 4. We were greeted incredibly warmly, orders taken promptly, nothing was too much trouble for the fantastic waiting staff and the wonderful manager that was on this evening. 9.9.23. The service was second to none and we all felt extremely valued. Everybody enjoyed each of their meals and all were correct and beautifully presented. Genuinely our new favourite place to dine. 11/10 as 10/10 just doesn’t do it justice. We will DEFINITELY be back.

We booked this place given all the fantastic reviews and were therefore quite shocked and disappointed at the very over inflated price of the room. We had anticipated at £185.00 for one night that their would be some luxury but to our disappointment the room was incredibly basic and quite gloomy. We felt the quality was much more reflective of £100.00 room and the overall place pretty similar to a travel lodge. Had the room been that price, then it would have been fine, no problem.

Amazing food... Dinner fabulous. Amazing breakfast. All Staff so friendly and helpful. Comfy bed and big rooms. Very clean. Only downside was the room was very dark room 11. Loved it... Would return in a heartbeat

We visited here as we were staying nearby and so glad we did.A lovely warm welcome,beautiful decor and dog friendly too.We both had the steak pie and it was the best pie we’ve ever had.We will absolutely return absolutely loved it.Such a warm friendly place with exceptional food.

For some considerable time we have made this our chosen Special Occasion eatery due to consistently high quality cuisine, friendly service and a delightful ambience. This time it was our 61st wedding anniversary. We had a most enjoyable time, the food was excellent, hot, and the service was good with no undue wait for our food to arrive. My wife and I have had four sea cruises this year, and we believe that the quality of service and food easily equals that of the standards of these luxury sea cruises. If you have any doubts about the food take a look at the attached photograph. Four completely empty plates speaks for itself; and it certainly wasn't that there was little food on the plates initially - it was simply delicious. Well done to all the staff at The Bird in Hand for making another Special Occasion, Special. Thank you. See you again soon.

We enjoyed our meal here at Bird in Hand. Slightly on the outskirts of Witney but picturesque area and nice parking spaces. Yes it does not have the atmosphere of a traditional Cotswold pub but the restaurant seems to be the focus here and it was full. The service was very good and the food was excellent. Having been in Witney several times and not found a restaurant that delivered great food I can recommend this inn for a good evening meal .

The pub is a bit out of the way but don't let that put you off. You are 20mins from Blenheim and about 30 from Oxfords Pear Tree Park & ride. On arrival friendly greeting from staff, room was large with tea/coffee and biscuits. We had a bath with over shower. Very clean. Food in restaurant was excellent both at dinner and breakfast. Perfect stay can't fault it will definitely be back.

Superb good , great service and will be back again soon. Wonderful menu and I defy anyone to leave hungry. This is the third time we have eaten here and everytime is as good as the previous occasion. It is a must not miss experience
