The staff and the service: totally incredible. The food was average at best, and there weren't many amenities, but it was located very close to 2 train lines which was extremely convenient. If you aren't planning to spend much time in your room, it's a great staging area for heading into London, going to and from the airport, or getting anywhere you need to. Priced right, especially for what you're getting. I would recommend it to friends and I would stay there again myself.

we had the disabled room. the room was clean and the beds comfortable. on appearances the wet room was pleasing to look at but when being used we found it lacking in a few things. More grab handles would improve the safety of disabled clients. The shower seat was rather small and when you used this you could not reach the shower controllers, its ok if you have someone with you to help but as solo traveler would find this difficult. The restaurant ramp is quite narrow to negotiate in an electric wheelchair, it could do with some handrails and to be a bit wider. The staff are amazing going overboard to make our stay good. Food is good, breakfast was lovely. Will definitely return.

Arrived on Sunday 7th April at 8.45pm after a long day if travel to be told by security that the hotel was closed and that we should have been informed by email 24hrs prior. After a hasty telephone call to a telephone number posted on an A4 size poster on the door we were told “oh Croydon Central are expecting you” News to us!! Checked our inbox , spam and junk mail on mobile phone and zilch!! I asked where Croydon Central was and informed by Travelodge help(less) desk to “just jump in a cab” arrived 9.45pm at Croydon Central. Staff there were apologetic and claimed that this has happened on several occasions. On arrival home we immediately put in a complaint which was responded to promptly with a Sorry we will let the relevant dept know! We emailed again suggesting we receive full/partial refund or a reasonable discount voucher for future use. This was responded with “there are no refunds” Croydon was cheaper than Crystal Palace but this hasn't been addressed either. If we as prospective guests had cancelled our booking we would have lost our money in full but Travelodge at the drop of a hat can cancel our reservation without any recompense to us. Seems very unfair to us. We are awaiting a further response from Travelodge but after reading previous reviews don't hold out for much. In future we will use a reputable more caring hotel chain who have a bette PR team. Take note people prior to making a reservation.

Very basic hotel but clean and reasonably priced for something very central to all the shops/restaurants We went for a theatre show and it was literally around the corner so it was a perfect location

Worth to book a stay on this accommodation. Very proximal to the train station and cheap for a night stay. 30-45 mins away from central london. The room arrangement is very authentic and cozy with complete amenities needed. I haven’t tried their in-house menus since I am on a budget but over-all I am satisfied. Might book another night soon if I will go back to London. Cheers!

The staff were nothing but helpful throughout my time here, and accommodating. The staff member that stood out the most with Ming. She was very pleasant and polite and helpful. The hotel is what you expect from a travelodge and was clean. The breakfast options were plentiful.

Long story short - DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Me and my partner were due to fly out to Cyprus, checked in the day of our flight - booking wasn’t on system, was told that they would sort for us so we can stay when we arrive as was early hours. When we arrived back last night - We were delayed. We were greeted by an extremely rude older man (white hair and glasses) who was doing the night shift, was very unpleasant rubbing his eyes “what do you want, you’ve just woke me up”. He repeated this multiple times which I found very rude for someone who is supposed to be working. After explaining the situation to him he still kept going on about us being late , and not booked in so nothing had changed about our booking! Was then told he had a spare room. THE ROOM How can you let guests stay in such places?! The room was very cramped, the sink was in the corner of the bedroom. Smelt very musty and the bathroom smelt like stale cigarettes! Can hear everything going on in other rooms, All conversations, phone calls, showers etc! £176 for 2 people is absolutely ridiculous!! Let’s just say, I will NOT be returning. There are 100% better hotels around Gatwick. Pay the extra. Don’t waste your money on this …. Wouldn’t even call it a hotel. Only good thing about the stay was they managed to keep our car safe!
