Norseman Hotel

Norseman Hotel ★★★

📍 Riverside, Wick

"Fo the price we paid, we were very happy about the hotel and room. All was very good and the Breakfast was superb. If we had to be picky...the shower didn't have much water pressure. Other than that our stay was great."

Broadhaven Road

Broadhaven Road ★★★

📍 Impala 11a, Broadhaven Road, Wick

"There was a strange smell throughout the house. The furniture is also quite old. The soap could have been refilled (it was empty). Parking was ample and check-in was easy."

"Not a great number of hotels to choose from in Wick but this B& B was great. Owners were very obliging and friendly, the breakfast superb and room was comfortable. A few stairs to navigate but manageable. The location was great and goodmealsl at the Norseman nearby"

Burnside Cottage

Burnside Cottage ★★★

📍 Ha of Gills, Canisbay, Upper Gills, Wick

"Great Stay - here just fits everything! We were check-in for 3 nights and sad not to have booked anymore! Kacey is a great, hearty host, the property is maintained and beautifully located. The room is tasteful, high quality furnished and everything super clean and new! Modern bathroom and great beds. The breakfast is great and the dinner is also delicious. The green thumb is not just a marketing logo here, but is lived in all areas: from handseaven to bio-steak - just great! Here is the price/performance ratio! Very nice again!"

Harbour House Bed & Breakfast - Wick
7.2 (47 reviews)

Harbour House Bed & Breakfast - Wick ★★★

📍 12 Harbour Terrace, Wick

"Nasty and deplorable. Entry is a small narrow hall leading to steep narrow stairs. Carpet is dirty and stained. Our room was on the top floor. The room smelled musty and opening the small window didn't help. The room carpet was stained and dirty. There was only one congested way for all residents in case of fire. There was trash on the bathroom floor from previous guest. The bath was moldy. If you turned the water on for the sink the shower drain would backflow and bubble up. A tile fell off the bathroom wall and shattered while in the room but without touching it. The small bed and pillows were very lumpy. Hate to think what was under the coverlet! There was NO parking unless you could find some on the street. There was no communal room and breakfast was served in your room. Of course there was not really anywhere to eat it. The small folding table was filthy. The menu was highly restrictive - not that we'd eat anything prepared there. Doesn't Scotland have some sort of inspection board for these places???? They must because we stayed at other B&B's that were wonderful. We only stayed here because we were late getting in, didn't know the area and had a very early ferry to catch. What a disaster."

"We stayed overnight and had an excellent stay. The owner Angela was very accommodating and even suggested a very nice place for food the Norseman which was excellent. The accommodation was very good and clean everything we needed was there. Breakfast was lovely. Highly recommend staying here when visiting Wick."

Mackays Hotel ★★★
"I have been to Wick three times - twice at MacKay’s and once at another hotel. MacKay’s is undoubtedly the better hotel. The hotel has a faded elegance that can be quite charming, and it is certainly a better hotel than Wick deserves with spacious rooms and a great restaurant. However the decor and fittings are a bit old."

Harbour House Bed & Breakfast - Wick ★★★
"I'd like the person beginning to read my review to know that I too have read through all of the reviews that proceeded my own. It would seem 2 to 3 years ago this B&B had MANY negative reviews, most for the same reasons. The last few years have seen higher reviews with happier customers. I have stayed here in February of 2026, in room #2 and would now like to offer my own. Yes. Go for it. Book the room. I have stayed in 18 man hostels, I have stayed in £400 rooms. I've seen it all. This B&B is nowhere near the low end in my opinion, its not without wear and age but its not filthy or rundown in any way if earlier reviews have you worried. Here are the positives, its a large room. Larger than Ive had at more pricey stays. The bed was much larger than expected, it had a full self service coffee/tea/biscurlt station with many options and condiments. The bathroom was large. You get a little table set up by the window, a TV, a wardrobe, theres also a hairdryer if that applies. The view. I loved the view. I watched the sunrise over the harbour with my breakfast. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were clean ( id seen complaints) the towels were clean, the surfaces were clean. Honestly I enjoyed it. This is the sort of place I'd stay for a few days. I only stayed for 1 night. The hosts Virginia and Keith are lovely. Virginia gave me a full intro to the room and recommended where to go. You get a sheet in your room to select what you want for breakfast at either 0730 or 0900. I found the breakfast to be plenty large enough for one. Mine was delivered at 0730 on the dot. Your hot food arrives on a hot plate. I was quite satisfied with it. The shower is nice and warm, water pressure pretty decent for an older building. Is there mold in the shower? Yes there is, not new growing mold but older under the grout. Yes there is some rust, yes there is some dust. No my room didn't have any musty or bad smells. They kept the heat to a very comfortable temp. Its an older place but hey its an old building and its one of the best rates youll get in town for sure. The bed, the view and the stocked coffee/tea area kept me well happy. My ONLY complaint was circumstantial, another guest had a dog who'd bark anytime sometime moved outside the room and there was hardly any attempt by its owner to calm it. So be warned it does appear the place accepts dogs and this might be a deal breaker for you. In my opinion I didnt see anything that would warrant a 1 or 2 star review. Whatever was wrong a few years ago has been addressed. Its very located a 10 min walk from most food places. I found the area to be very safe. I was out alone around 10pm. Id definitely stay there again. Well well worth the price for me. Ill include photos. My review is exclusive to room #2 which faces the harbour from the street you enter the building on. Happy stays"
