At first I was very impressed upon arrival, nice view with stylish design. However the nightmare was coming in the evening, my room temperature showed 28 degrees. I reported to front desk and they said some customers reported cold, hence they switched off the air conditioning and turned on the heater. We were sweating the whole night….2nd night almost same although no heater but air conditioning still switched off only fan was working…..I complained again on the 3rd day cause my room temperature showed 30 degrees and at the end air conditioning kept remaining and we could have a good sleep finally. I travelled a lot and never facing such situation at any hotel before. I was very surprised about such arrangements as the weather was not that cold during my stay.

Excellent location with wonderful views of Gulangyu Island. Check-in was extremely slow - with a queue developing, despite it being past midnight - they also required a large deposit (double the room rate!) which we felt was excessive. Breakfast was so-so, quite a lot of choice but generally not particularly good quality - was bored of the selection by the third morning. Lots of parking which was very convenient. To be aware, there are no USB ports in the room and cannot borrow a charging block, so be sure to bring/buy your own. In-room dining menu had a wide selection and good quality. Rooms were clean and well-kept. We were brought a small gift for Christmas, which was very kind. Overall, the location and views make up for any minor ******* - would highly recommend for a city break in Xiamen.

I booked this hotel last minute and was provided a high floor room with a view. Great location and service. However, the room itself is outdated. The beds were still spring beds and not very comfortable. For a 5 star hotel, i expected more but to be honest, I compared it to some other options and this one was great value for the price in Xiamen.

I knew about Qishang Hotel before I checked in. I saw that Qishang Banyan Room was newly opened on Gulangyu Island. They are from the same group, Qishang, so I placed an order. It is very comfortable and suitable for vacation. The hotel is located next to Gulangyu Ecological Park. The environment is natural and secluded. It is a good place to avoid the crowds on Gulangyu Island. I like the corridor of the hotel very much. You can have breakfast while basking in the sun. It is also a good place to read a book and relax. Children also like to stroll in the corridor yard. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Gulangyu Island. I really like walking around the island at night. At night, the kittens are out on the street, and the children are very happy to chase them. During our stay, the housekeeper Winnie picked us up from the pier and took us to the hotel. Fruits, pineapple cakes and children's toothbrushes were also prepared in the room. Another butler, Roger, also helped prepare the baby's tableware when he served us lunch, which was quite considerate and thoughtful. Will come back for vacation, recommended!

The butler has a pick-up service at the port, otherwise it would be too tiring to drag the luggage. The hotel was renovated from Lin's old house. It is in the style of the Republic of China, low-key and luxurious. The balcony faces the garden, which reminds me of many romantic dramas of the Republic of China. And only hotel guests can enter here. It is relatively quiet and not as noisy as other places in Gulangyu Island. The service is also very good. I felt there were many mosquitoes at night, so the front desk immediately brought toilet water and an electric mosquito swatter. By the way, there is also a free cheongsam photo-taking service here. The cheongsam is a free set. It is very clean and will be sent to dry cleaning after every customer uses it. The style is also beautiful. It's a pity that I only stayed for one day. I will stay here next time I come to Gulangyu Island.

I originally booked just one night for a room with 'no window'. Upon arrival, they gave me a room with a small window but with a wonderful view outside. So I immediately extended my stay to 3 nights. A soaring office tower nearby put on a fantastic lights show every night. The room was very clean and comfortable with all necessary amenities included. Lots of local buses and BRT buses right around the corner with many fascinating shops & eateries. The front desk staff were always very friendly and helpful. I'd like to give my thanks to two particular staff, Ms. Chen Mei 陈梅 & Ms. Lisa Lee Xia 李霞. They both went above and beyond during my stay to help me with many things, from purchasing Gulangyu ferry ticket, to helping me to set up my Alipay, WeChat, and other mundane things that normally would make any new visitor from outside of China crazy upon arrival. They both were very sweet, courteous, professional and efficient. They made my stay in Xiamen very enjoyable and easy to maneuver. The other male staff are also very friendly. Lastly, did I say Echeng Hotel has a robot server? I saw it one night delivering dinner from the ground floor to a room on the 6th floor and then returned to the ground floor lobby by itself. Very cool!

民宿位置非常好，房間不大但洗澡水很好，吹風機也有，一次性浴巾和毛巾牙刷也有。老闆兩口子很熱情，還借我鍋煮海鮮吃，樓上還有公共洗衣機可以使用，還有天台可以晾衣服。 離八市和中山路都非常近，樓下有個佳味再添館子蝦麪好鮮甜，各種東西都不貴，再往後走一點點範鑫肉燕也好吃，阿呆薑母鴨還有旁邊有個做盒飯的他家紅燒肉也好吃，八市裡麪烤生蠔有一家人很多味道也好，反正每天走兩萬步一點也沒瘦，東北人去廈門吃蝦就好，不要吃螃蟹，螃蟹還是東港飛蟹最好吃。大家去鼓浪嶼不要啥吃的都買，尤其是四果湯做的太拉胯，龍頭路有一家魷魚花都是下麻辣燙那種麪丸子，出了島到八市便宜一半味道也更好更地道。
