Hotel Sonne

Hotel Sonne is wonderful. This was our second stay and everything was wonderful. You are greeted with a welcome and smile. The rooms are beautiful. The breakfast is delicious. Dennis and the bar is a nice resting spot. And they help with transfers to the mountain and train. They even packed us a breakfast to go as we had to leave bright and early. We can’t thank you enough for sharing your wonderful home with us.

Perfect location, close to all relevant places but in a silent spot with a great view of the mountains. Extremely helpful and kind personnel without exceptions, really taking the extra step to feel customers comfortable - this was experienced in all situations, including pool service, bar recommendations, restaurant, and transfers. Breakfast was as excellent as all other food. The Tapas restaurant was really good. The hotel fee included a scheduled transfer to the ski lifts in the mornings - this was a luxury helping to avoid carrying skis.

A great, calm, cozy hotel located next to the city church. The hotel has a large swimming pool by Zermatt standards and several saunas in the hammam. There is a small waterfall on the street near the jacuzzi. Thank you very much to the staff for their help in everything necessary.

Fastidiously clean resort hotel. Friendly, helpful hotel staff. Delicious breakfast. Superior cozy bar with fireplace and excellent service. Lovely room with comfortable beds. Really enjoyed the beautiful pool and outdoor hot tub and spa. Excellent experience at this hotel.

Hands down, the most magical and beautiful hotel we have ever stayed in! Hotel Sonne is so much more than just a place to rest your head in a gorgeous Alpine village...it is a delight for the senses! Everything about this hotel is incredible - the food, the decor, the comfy beds, the VIEWS, the spa...but what REALLY won us over was the kindness and generosity of the Forster family who own and run Hotel Sonne. Their dedication to your every creature comfort is amazing, and it was even better to be able to spend some time with them as we would see them here and there and everywhere working so hard throughout the day and into the evening. Never without a smile on their faces, the Forsters are truly wonderful people who made us feel right at home and attended to our every want and need throughout our magical winter vacation in Zermatt. We discovered Hotel Sonne last year, and it is because of the comfort of this hotel as well as the attentiveness and overall kindness of the entire staff that brought us back this year! I look forward to planning our next visit to Zermatt where we will ONLY stay at one place...Hotel Sonne. We came home with incredible memories as well as new friends in the Forster family. I only wish I could give them more stars because this place deserves it! It is everything you could ever want and so much more. WE CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!! BEST PLACE IN ZERMATT!

I would give this hotel 6 stars if I could. The hotel was warm and charming and the staff goes above and beyond for its guests. The Yama spa was just the cherry on top! We typically don’t like to stay at the same place twice in order to explore more hotels. However, we will 100% book this hotel again in the future.

The hotel exceeded our expectation. There was no choice of stays available for the time of booking. However, we really like the hotel. Service was excellent. Food was very good, especially meat. They really know how to make it good. Also pool and outside jacuzzi was something to enjoy after day of skiing. The only problem that hotel is located a little bit up the hill. It was hard for our kid to walk back after skiing, but there is always option to take a taxi.

The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and spacious, the breakfast is excellent and very delicious, the spa and pool areas are very nice and relaxing, great food variety and quality in the restaurants and a really cool bar, free shuttle to the ski-slopes

We visited Zermatt with our two children and had an amazing time. People are very friendly, nice food and top service. The new designed breakfast buffet is very nice with a huge assor**ent of cheese, fresh fruits, pancakes, etc. - everything the heart desires. Spa and pool is very beautiful. Overall, we highly recommend the hotel.
