Beppu has an amazing view from far as u can see steam from many buildings from a distance when u are approaching Pebbu. It’s a town famous for onsen. Oniishibozu is quite a nice place to view the hot spring with two big ponds and a big souvenir shop. The steam emitting from the pond is quite spectacular. The smell of sulphur is quite strong though. Overall a 3/5 tourist spot.
