Shuangta Mountain

Shuangta Mountain is known for its peculiar mountains, waters, forests, stones, towers, and caves, forming a unique natural landscape through the wonders of nature. Shuangta Mountain is located ten kilometers southwest of the world-famous Chengde Mountain Resort in Hebei Province, with a total area of 3,000 hectares. Two huge rock pillars are arranged from south to north, standing shoulder to shoulder, resembling treasure towers. There is a brick tower on the top of each peak, hence the name Shuangta Mountain. The two peaks are roughly the same height; the northern peak is thick and tall, 40 meters high, with a circumference of 74 meters. The southern peak is thick at the top and thin at the bottom, with a circumference of 34 meters. More than 1,000 years ago, the Khitan people built two ancient towers on the top of Shuangta Mountain, adding a mysterious color to the entire scenic area. The scenic area has beautiful forests and gorges, rushing streams, strange rocks, and birds and flowers. Emperors Kangxi, Qianlong, and Jiaqing of the Qing Dynasty, as well as famous civil and military officials, have visited many times.
