Chen Family Courtyard in Wenjiang, Chengdu

Shou'an Chen Family Courtyard, also known as Chen Family Mast, is located in the former Swan Village of Shou'an, about 40 kilometers from downtown Chengdu, and can be reached within an hour by car. The Chen Family Mast is a comprehensive courtyard-style architectural complex that integrates ancestral halls, residences, gardens, and academies. It consists of 12 courtyards of various sizes and was originally built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. In front of the gate stand double fighting masts, which are typical of Western Sichuan residential buildings. It is the largest existing ancestral hall building in Western Sichuan and is known as 'the First Ancestral Hall of Western Sichuan'. The courtyard can be toured in about half an hour, and there are very few visitors. Currently, the magnolias and plum blossoms in the courtyard are in bloom, which look particularly vivid against the backdrop of the blue bricks and grey tiles. Admission: 10 yuan per person.
