Don't miss the lesser-known destinations around Jingdezhen!!!

Dongbu Ancient Wharf carries a prosperous history. It was the distribution center for kaolin, glaze fruits and other materials needed for Jingdezhen's porcelain making during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and was known as the "source of the Maritime Silk Road". As early as the Song Dynasty, it was called Hongtan Village, with the East River running through the village. During the Ming Dynasty, because the ships transporting porcelain clay all loaded and unloaded goods in the East River within the territory of Hongtan Village, a large number of people and goods promoted the development of the village. The villagers built sundries, cloth, tobacco and liquor shops, inns, restaurants, and teahouses along the coast, forming a commercial street. By the Qing Dynasty, the street had extended to one kilometer, ranking among the four ancient streets of Fuliang County, becoming a wharf market town, and was renamed Dongbu, meaning the wharf on the east bank of the river. Judging from the existing shop names on the street, there were not only shops specializing in selling kaolin on the ancient street, but also pharmacies, cloth shops, shoe shops, tofu shops, pork shops and other types of shops, as many as dozens, very lively. The East River is one of the sources of the Changjiang River, the mother river of Jingdezhen. It originates from the Baishita in Yaoli, flows from northeast to southwest through Yaoli, Ehu, Zangwan, Wanggang and other towns, with a total length of more than 100 kilometers. It was an important transportation artery in ancient Jingdezhen. After the Chang River flows into the Gan River, it goes straight to Poyang Lake, connects with the Yangtze River, and transports porcelain to all over the world. Dongbu Ancient Wharf is not commercialized at all, and still maintains the old appearance. There are few residents in the old street, and they are estimated to have moved to the village behind. Only some old houses along the river are still inhabited by old people. There are very few tourists. We went at noon on Dragon Boat Festival, and only met a few groups of tourists sporadically. You can take a leisurely walk and take pictures. Just walk around and experience its former glory. 📍Location: North of 069 Township Road, Yaoli, Fuliang County, Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province 🎫Tickets: Free 🚗Transportation: About 55 minutes drive from the city, about 10 minutes drive from Yaoli Ancient Town ⚠️It is recommended to charter a car or drive by yourself. We chartered a car at 10 o'clock from Sanbao Village, and went to Dongbu Wharf and Yaoli Ancient Town, and returned at three o'clock in the afternoon. The price is 350 (Dragon Boat Festival price, for reference) 🥤Catering: None, need to go to Yaoli Ancient Town 📷Photography: On the big bridge where you park, floating bridge, old street, wharf, etc. ☕️Other tips: It is said that the Lantern of the Earth in Hanxi Village is gone. It happened to rain that day, so it was not arranged There is a lot of chartered car information. When you take a taxi in Jingdezhen, communicate more with the driver, chat a few words, they are all similar, you can choose by yourself
