✨When visiting Yingtan's Mount Longhu, make sure not to miss the Grand Shangqing Palace just because it's located at the farthest end of the scenic area. As the largest and highest-ranking royal Taoist palace complex in China, the Grand Shangqing Palace is truly worth a visit. ▶️The foundation of the Grand Shangqing Palace was laid during the Northern Song Dynasty, originally known as 'Celestial Master's Thatched Cottage.' It was a place where Taoist Celestial Masters worshipped deities and was known as 'the gathering place of immortal spirits.' Unfortunately, it was destroyed by a great fire in 1930. Fortunately, decades later, the discovery of a piece of green glazed tile confirmed the existence of the site, allowing this once sacred land to see the light of day again. 🚶🏻‍♂️Enter through the 'Fudi Gate' with a signboard reading 'Grand Shangqing Palace,' pass through the S-shaped Dragon Street resembling a meandering dragon, and arrive at the Dismounting Pavilion. The pavilion is supported by 28 pillars, each corresponding to one of the 28 constellations, and the floor is inlaid with a Nine Palaces and Eight Trigrams formation. 🔻Further inside, you can see the Lingxing Gate, a ceremonial archway-style gate, and discover carvings of auspicious creatures such as dragons, phoenixes, and cranes. The buildings on both sides are the Doumu Hall (Drum Tower) and the God of Wealth Hall (Bell Tower). To the right, the east side leads to the Dongyin Courtyard and the Buddha-Demon Hall, while to the north is the core area of the entire site. 🔹On the central axis of the core area, there are the Dragon and Tiger Gate, the Jade Emperor Hall, the Hou Tu Hall, and the Three Purities Pavilion in succession. The Three Purities Pavilion houses the highest deities of Taoism, the Three Pure Ones: the Jade Pure One, the Supreme Pure One, and the Grand Pure One. 🔸In the exhibition of archaeological findings of the Grand Shangqing Palace nearby, many cultural relics are displayed, most of which are architectural structures in the northern tube-style architectural style.
