Hangzhou | A national treasure hidden at the entrance of a kindergarten in the old city area!

The Sutras Pillar of the Brahma Heaven Temple is a national cultural heritage, located right at the entrance of the Mantou Mountain No.61 Kindergarten, at the foot of Phoenix Mountain. According to 'The History of Wu and Yue', in the second year of the Zhenming era of the Liang Dynasty (916 AD), Qian Liu brought the relic stupa of the Buddha from the King Ashoka Temple in Mou County (today's Yin County) to Hangzhou, and built the South City Tower to treasure it. The Sutras Pillar of the Brahma Heaven Temple, after the South City Tower was destroyed by fire; in the third year of the Qiande era (965 AD), the King of Wuyue, Qian Hongchu, rebuilt it and later renamed it the Brahma Heaven Temple. There are two Sutras Pillars of the Brahma Heaven Temple, each 15.76 meters tall. They are a combination of Wuyue architectural and sculptural art. The Sutras Pillars are entirely constructed from Taihu Lake stone, majestic and imposing. In terms of their style, height, and exquisite craftsmanship, they are rare in the country.
