Tongjiang Hovercraft International Transport Launches

As the cold winter approaches, the lower reaches of the Heilongjiang River, the Sino-Russian border river, are about to enter the ice floe season. On the morning of November 10, the Chinese hovercraft "Longfei 22" departed from Tongjiang Port, heading to the Russian port of Nizhneleninskoye, marking the official opening of the 2025 hovercraft passenger transport route at Tongjiang water transport port. This route provides convenient cross-border transportation for passengers from both countries during the ice floe season on the Sino-Russian border river. Hovercraft transport has unique advantages, with fewer passengers per trip but more frequent trips, allowing flexible response to changes in passenger flow. The Tongjiang Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station actively coordinates and monitors passenger flow in advance, opening additional lanes and providing external guidance during peak periods to effectively shorten passenger waiting times. At the same time, port management is strengthened with detailed supervision plans to ensure passenger safety. Currently, the first hovercraft departs at 8:00 AM (Beijing Time), operating in a round-trip cycle, with a total of 2 hovercrafts deployed for transport tasks.
