We Climbed the Great Wall!

Hold on to your hats! Our first full day in Beijing was a thrill ride of excitement that we'll never forget. But the cherry on top of our adventure was our visit to the Great Wall of China! And let me tell you, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We opted for Jinshanling instead of the more crowded tourist hotspots like Badaling or Mutianyu - and we are glad we did! After a two-hour van ride from our hotel, the Holiday Inn near the Temple of Heaven, we arrived at the entrance to the Great Wall. We decided to take a walk, but you could hop on a cart ride if you prefer. Once we got there, we secured our surprisingly affordable tickets. We brought our water and snacks, but the vendors were on hand if we needed anything else. The hike was long and breathtaking, with views that will stay with us forever.
