Lingnan's most distinctive private estate - Xie Lu Villa

Xie Lu Villa, located in Xie Lu Village, Wushi Town, Luchuan County, Yulin City, Guangxi, is known as one of the four major private estates in China. Originally called Shuren Book House, it was built in 1921 and took 7 years to complete. Due to the variety of flowers in the manor, it is also called Xie Lu Garden, and was renamed Xie Lu Villa in 1980. It is the private garden of Lu Chunquan (a taro farmer), a Lingnan-style garden villa. The gatehouse, the first gate to enter the villa, is slightly higher than ordinary houses, and there is a plaque on the tile surface - "Shuren Book House". There is a couplet below: "Get three thousand carts of rare books, entertain this white head; plant another hundred thousand famous flowers, decorate this green mountain." The manor has rockeries, ponds, and pavilions. The scenery of Jiangnan Garden is not less here. There are eight pavilions in the villa: Zhe Liu Pavilion, Shang He Pavilion, Xiao Lan Pavilion, Liu Mo Pavilion, Ting Song Tao Pavilion, Yi Yun Pavilion, Tang Yin Pavilion, Ban Shan Pavilion. "Lang Huan Blessed Land", "Han Xiao Road", "Yao Yun Bamboo Path" and other tourist doors are unique. The pavilions, towers and pavilions in the villa, the winding paths, all the houses are brick walls and tile roofs, maintaining a strong local folk customs. The architectural layout of the villa follows the characteristics of Suzhou and Hangzhou gardens, built according to the mountain, stacked up, the shape is elegant and unique. The doors, corridors, bridges, ponds, stone mountains, and houses in the garden are scattered and secluded, integrating the grand view of various Chinese estates into one garden, and also known as the "First Estate of Bagui".
