Minqing Honglin House

Honglin House, commonly known as Xinhuli, is located in Xinhucun, Bandong Town, Minqing County, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. It was started by Huang Zujia, the ancestor of Xinhuli, in the 60th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1795), and was continued by his eldest son Huang Honglin and his four brothers. It took 28 years to complete and has been more than 200 years. The house faces west to east, with a wooden structure, three consecutive courtyards and two and a half floors. The plan is rectangular, covering an area of more than 17,000 square meters, with a total of 35 halls and 666 rooms. Its form is 'one vertical and one horizontal'. 'One vertical' means that the main house is on a central axis, and 'one horizontal' means that the horizontal house and the outer horizontal house are on the left and right sides of the central axis, forming a symmetrical front and back through the momentum. It gives people a sense of deep courtyard and unity. In 2015, it was rated as a AAA tourist attraction by the state. Honglin House
