Having had enough of water activities, proceed for about 1000 meters, and you will find the Badaguan Scenic Area. The reason why it is called "Badaguan" is that during the period from 1931 to 1937, eight roads that were built were named after China's eight famous passes, namely Shaoguan Road, Ningwuguan Road, Zijingguan Road, Jiayuguan Road, Hanguguan Road, Zhengyangguan Road, Linhuaiguan Road, and Juyongguan Road. Later on, Wushengguan Road and Shanhaiguan Road were added, but the name "Badaguan" was still used. Badaguan brings together buildings in the styles of more than 20 countries including Russia, Britain, France, Germany, the United States, Denmark, Japan, etc., hence it is known as the "World Architecture Fair". The most prominent feature here is the close integration of parks and courtyards, with lush trees everywhere. The roadside trees on both sides of the streets are also different—Shaoguan Road is planted with green peach trees, which look like pink ribbons in spring; Zhengyangguan Road is full of crape myrtles that bloom in the summer breeze; Juyongguan Road has pentagonal maples that turn red in the frost of autumn; Zijingguan Road is lined with cedar trees that stay green all year round; Ningwuguan Road is known as "Flower Street," with flowers blooming from early spring to late autumn... Every step reveals a scene, extraordinarily romantic, making Badaguan one of the largest wedding photography centers in China. How can you not go to sea when in Qingdao? Leaving Badaguan and continuing along the coastline for about 4 kilometers, you will reach the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center. This was the venue for the sailing competitions of the 29th Beijing Olympics in 2008 and the 13th Paralympic Games. A fleet of sailboats is neatly docked at the pier, presenting a spectacular sight. Visitors only need to book online in advance to have the opportunity to operate a sailboat on-site.
