Udo Island of Jeju

Udo Island is located at the eastern end of Jeju Island, an island within an island, and is not closed off. It is named Udo because its shape resembles that of a cow lying down with its head stretched out. The circumference of Udo Island is 17 kilometers, and it is home to about 700 households and more than 1,800 residents who make a living from fishing and agriculture. Udo Island is the largest of the islands near Jeju Island, with a gentle terrain, rich fish resources, and an extremely superior natural environment. Here, one can see Jeju's haenyeo (female divers), stone wall roads, stone tombs, and other traditional Jeju Island culture, as well as beautiful natural scenery, making visitors feel as if they have come to a miniature Jeju Island. Climbing to the highest peak of Udo Island (132 meters), Seongsan Ilchulbong, and other locations, one can take in the entire view of Jeju Island's landscape.
