Hiked Over the Mighty Hwaseong Fortress!

Suwon, a city not far from Seoul, is most known for the powerful and resilient Hwaseong Fortress. This fortress is long, and you can hike on it the entire way around. You also get magnificent panoramic views of the city. Historically, the fortress surrounded Suwon's center. It was built from 1794 to 1796 by King Jeongjo during the Joseon Dynasty to honor his late father, Prince Sado. While I was circumnavigating the fortress, there were descriptions at different parts talking about what each section of the fortress was used for. I also got to learn a lot about its history. Near the Eastern Command Post, there was a glass display of military equipment used during the Joseon Dynasty. I highly recommend visiting this site if you are a history buff, an aesthetically pleasing photos enthusiast, or an active traveler.
