Chrobry's Embankments

Chrobry's Embankments (Wały Chrobrego) - an observation deck with a length of approx. 500 m in Szczecin on the escarpment along the Oder river. The famous urban and architectural complex co-creating, together with the National Museum in Szczecin, the Pomeranian Dukes' Castle and the Cathedral of St. st. Jakuba, the silhouette of the city on the Oder river, visible from the main access routes from the east, running through bridges and viaducts. Designed and erected according to the concept of Wilhelm Meyer-Schwartau in the years 1902-1921 on the initiative of Mayor Hermann Haken, in honor of whom the terrace was originally named. On Wały Chrobrego, we can admire the historic buildings of: the Maritime Academy, the Maritime Museum and the Contemporary Theater and the West Pomeranian Voivodship Office. You can relax here on a bench or in one of the restaurants. You can also go down the stairs to walk along the bank of the Oder River. #poland #polandtravel #szczecin #city
