Very Grand, Very Golden, Very Vientiane!

Pha That Luang, or Great Stupa, is an important monument in the city of Vientiane. This grand golden Buddhist stupa could even be considered a national symbol in Laos. And I can totally see why! Accompanying this majestic structure gleaming in glorious sunlight is the equally captivating reclining Buddha! As gigantic as this statue is, there is interestingly nothing imposing about it.
