Tongxiang Puyuan Fashion Ancient Town is the first ancient town after the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal flows out of Jiaxing city area, a typical ancient town of Jiangnan water town, which was founded in the Southern Song Dynasty. It was once known as 'the sunrise produces thousands of bolts of silk' and was hailed as 'a giant town in Jiahao' during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it became one of the five famous towns in the south of the Yangtze River. The architecture is mainly in the style of the Song Dynasty, with water alleys, stone bridges, green bricks and black tiles, pavilions, towers, carved beams and painted corridors throughout the town, reflecting the Chinese aesthetics of Jiangnan Song rhyme everywhere. Walking through the streets laid out like a chessboard, it feels like a conversation with time, a dream back to the Song Dynasty.
