The Beixin Relic Tower in Wanrong, Shanxi

The Beixin Relic Tower is located in the west of Beixin Old Village, Ronghe Town, Wanrong County, Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province. It was built in the 16th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1383). It is a round five-layer Lama brick tower with a height of about 15 meters. It was originally a subsidiary building of the Chongsheng Zen Temple, but now only the tower remains. The base of the tower is buried below the ground level. The tower has five layers, with a unique shape and flexible changes. It is a variant of the combination of the Lama tower popular in the Yuan Dynasty and the Diamond Throne Tower that appeared in the Ming Dynasty. In 1994, a sandstone relic small stone coffin, a sandstone square small stone box, and a green glazed relic small pottery coffin were found in the tower. On October 16, 2019, it was announced by the State Council as the eighth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
