Shaanxi History Museum

The Shaanxi History Museum, China's first large-scale modern national museum, is one of the first batch of 'AAAA' level tourist attractions and is known as the 'Pearl of the Ancient Capital, Treasury of Chinese Civilization'. It is located at No. 91, Xiaozhai East Road, Yanta District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, northwest of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. It houses more than 1.7 million pieces (sets) of collections, among which there are 762 first-grade cultural relics (sets), 18 national treasure-level cultural relics (sets), including 2 that are among the first batch prohibited from being exhibited abroad, ranking at the forefront of museums in China. It has been recognized by UNESCO as a world-class museum. The architectural appearance of the Shaanxi History Museum is designed to highlight the grandeur of the Tang Dynasty, and it has won the Architectural Creation Award from the Architectural Society of China. Chang'an has been the imperial capital since ancient times, with thirteen feudal dynasties such as Zhou, Qin, Han, Sui, and Tang establishing their capitals here in history, which has yielded a wealth of aboveground and underground cultural relics, forming the unique historical and cultural landscape of Shaanxi.
