Furong Town

Furong Town, under the jurisdiction of Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Yongshun County, Hunan Province, is located in the southern part of Yongshun County. It is adjacent to Changguan Town in the east, faces Hexi Town of Guzhang County across the river in the south, borders Liexi Township in the west, and is neighboring Gaoping Township in the northwest and north, and connects with Songbai Town in the northeast. The town government is 30.1 kilometers away from Yongshun County city. The total area is 225.96 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, Furong Town had a registered population of 34,000 people. Provincial Road 229 runs through the town, with a length of 8 kilometers within its territory. There is one county-level highway, with a total length of 45 kilometers. In 1983, the Furong Town Public Transport Company was established, with 120 bus departures per day and a daily capacity of more than 2,800 passengers. Furong Town was originally named Wangcun Town and was renamed after the filming of the movie 'Furong Town'. Within the territory of Furong Town, there are attractions such as Xizhou Copper Column, the outdoor filming site of the movie 'Furong Town', Furong Town Waterfall, Tusi Palace, and the remains of the Turen Cave dwellings. In 2012, Furong Town became a national 4A-level tourist attraction.
