this time at 1-2-1 Hirosaka, Kanazawa City, Ishikawa, Japan 920-8509!
beautiful place with full glass museum that can be seen from the outside. it is free for most exhibition except for those that are created by Leandro Erlich.
The famous swimming pool is one of them( which is not free) it’s an optic illusion of someone standing on top and another group of ppl across the glass below (the pool). quite artsy if you like such modern art exhibits.

21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art
Address: 1 Chome-2-1 Hirosaka, Kanazawa, Ishikawa 920-8509, Japan
Getting there: Take a bus to Hirosaka bus stop, from there it is just a few steps to the museum.
Highlights: The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art exhibits works of acclaimed contemporary artists from Japan and all over the world, and is among Japan's most popular art museums.
What I like the most of this museum is its unique architecture. The museum is comprised of a circular building, with no facade or main entrance. It was designed without a front or back to discourage its patrons from approaching the museum, and consequently its art, from only one direction. 😆
Opening hours: 9am to 10pm daily, closed on Monday.
Admission fee: 1200yen

Kanazawa 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art
The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, is a museum with a circular building design, featuring walls entirely made of glass. Inside, there are contemporary art exhibitions by various artists, including experimental contemporary art, available for viewing both permanently and on a rotating basis. Some parts of the exhibitions can be accessed for free.
Artworks such as Wrapping (LAR Fernando ROMERO), The Man Who Measures the Clouds (Jan FABRE), Colour activity house (Olafur ELIASSON) are on display, and there are also cool design shops and souvenir stores where you can buy gifts.

This museum is great fun with quirky, varied and thought provoking exhibits. It is totally contemporary so don't be looking for a permanent collection of Monet's lily pads out back. A lot of interactive pieces and video installations so I would recommend this for family visits. The architecture of building inside and out is something to behold ! Stunning.
In 2024, I want to come back here ☺️

What are the best places to take in addition to the swimming pool in the 21st Century Museum of Art in Kanazawa? There is a super-fast cafeteria in the
Kanazawa Art Museum, as long as one hundred yuan! No mistakes, these rich appetizers (drinking) + a Western-style staple food + dessert drinks, and the environment is so elegant, in the art gallery, the appetizer is not the vegetable salad, this kind of species, seafood! Thick soup! Grilled meat! With this level of consumption, I feel that people around here are the best choice for lunch.
In addition to the net red swimming pool, the "grape" on the lawn is very suitable for taking many people's photos. You can use the mirror to play various creative poses.

Punch Kanazawa 21st Century Art Museum, the most popular location ~ Argentina designer leandro Erlich designed (pool) can fly a variety of flying ~
Tandy.
Its architectural design is one of the characteristics of the museum. The exterior wall of the building is a 360° glass curtain wall, which blurs the sense of the boundary between the interior and the exterior. One of the most popular areas of the museum is the Swimming Pool by Argentine installation artist Lindro Erish. This exhibit is an ordinary swimming pool at first glance. Look carefully, the pool has only 50 cm of surface, visitors can stand Underwater, the light and shadow changes are experienced at different angles. It is snowing on the day, and the entire venue is cleaning up the snow, so the bottom viewing area is not open, and it is slightly regrettable.

The 21st Century Museum of Art in Kanazawa was officially unveiled in October 2004. Glass was used as the outer wall of the circular building to form a transparent circular art gallery. At night, the crystal light shines through the ancient times. In downtown Kanazawa, it is like a luminous flying saucer that descends from the stars. There is no heavy and oppressive Japanese art museum. The museum has one of the most special artworks - Figures 7 and 8 look like a swimming pool? In fact, these photos are not taken under the water, but are shot under the special "under the water". The artist uses a 50 cm thick "water layer" to separate the pool up and down, and visitors can find different perspectives from the pool or "underwater". Is the wave and water shadow ~ very dreamy? z

To say that the place where Kanazawa must punch the card, it must be the 21st Century Art Museum of Kanazawa. The 3 or 4 points we went to were still full of people, and even the cars could not stop.
The appearance of the entire museum is very tall, the interior is pure white cold wind, no wonder it is the net red card punch.
didn't do your homework. In fact, convenience stores also sell tickets. You can buy them in advance. We had a full 20 minutes to buy the ticket. At first we didnt quite understand how he sold the ticket. Later, I found out that if I want to see the pool, I only need to buy a ticket for the area of 1,000 yen. I can see some exhibition areas, if I want Look at the special exhibition to buy a joint ticket.
The internal exhibition area is forbidden to take pictures. We will go directly to the waterless swimming pool from the left-hand channel of Hall 6, and we will have to queue, but everyone will follow the rules, and the two will flash, we I was too embarrassed to shoot too much. I took two floating photos.
The test shot is a few times: the dress that wears a little fairy will jump up in the pool, and the skirt with the bare shoulders and legs is best. In addition, it is necessary to pick the weather when it is good. The noon is the most ideal (although there are a lot of people). At 3 or 4 o'clock, the sun has not been able to reach the pool. The effect is very discounted, or you have to have that kind of sparkling It feels more real.
The museum is very big. If you visit it carefully, you can take a day. We are still too busy. I hope that I can find many different places next time.
Transportation: JR Jinan Station and Liuyuankou (East Exit) No. 3 and No. 6 platform buses take a 10-minute bus ride and get off at the "21st Century Art Museum"
