I booked a walking tour online which includes tickets to the Royal Palace of Madrid. I would so recommend doing so if you are going to Madrid because: No. 1 you have a tour guide that walks with you while explaining the history of Madrid & No. 2 you get to skip the queue for getting tickets and also entering the Royal Palace (very important because the palace is always really busy and the sun in Madrid is blazing hot 🥵) The palace is well maintained, very pretty and grand and definitely is worth a visit. I would say the palace quite the perfect example of east meet west where you can see some oriental inspired decorations and wallpapers. I personally do not have any prior knowledge about the Spanish royal family so it was nice to have a tour guide who explained everything to the finest details to us!! #timetotravel #境外遊 #madrid #royalpalace

The exterior of the palace looks more beautiful than the interior. The elegant architecture is befitting to be abode for the royalty. A must visit if you are in Madrid! Also make sure you buy tickets a few weeks in advance online or it's not a guarantee that you will get in! Another advice is don't try to sneak in pictures in the no picture areas, security takes that stuff extremely seriously from what we saw. Other than that the place is absolutely beautiful and if you are into history you can learn a lot from here! Don't forget to visit the armory on the way out! It's a little hidden away so most people don't see it, it's across from the place you originally entered in the first courtyard.

On my recent visit to Spain, I dedicated a beautiful afternoon to the Royal Palace of Madrid. The palace was built in 1751. Across its large estate of over 135,000m2 of floor space, it also features 3,418 stunning rooms! There are many things to see and do at the royal palace. For starters, I highly suggest seeing the Painting Gallery, The Royal Armoury, The Royal Kitchen (it boasts the oldest and most well preserved Royal Kitchen of any European royal residence!). Similar to other European royal residences, it also attracts crowds to its Changing of the Guards. For awesome instagram worthy pictures, check out the observation deck which offers fantastic views of the breathtaking gardens.
